WINDOW ROCK, NAVAJO NATION — On Thursday November 4th, 2010 the outgoing Navajo Nation Council Voted 51-24 to waive Diné Water Rights to the lower Colorado River ‘Forever’. 70 people marched to the council chambers and joined others in prayer to demonstrate concerns with the proposed Northeastern Arizona Water Settlement. Concerned Citizens for Diné Water Rights affirmed their commitment to stop the settlement.

Statement by Ron Milford of Concerned Citizens for Diné Water Rights, “First of all, I want to thank all the people who planned, coordinated, marched, and provided support for our people’s water rights. I also want to thank the many supporters who couldn’t make it for lack of time, gas money, and other valid reasons. We completely understand. This truly was a grassroots movement of individuals and coalitions, uniting for a common cause–the water rights of our children and future generations.

I also want to give a heartfelt thank you to the twenty-four delegates who stood their ground despite the odds, which was very, very evident yesterday at the council chamber. We will need them in our fight ahead.

Finally, I want everyone to know this is absolutely not the end. There are other options we must pursue to try and stop this settlement. The Nation Nation is a three-branch government, and the legislative council is only a third of the triangle. We now need to concentrate all our efforts on the executive office and the courts. There is also the new council of twenty-four, that I understand can recall this legislation, particularly if new persuasive evidence is presented. My hope also is the new President and VP will open speak against the settlement in support of the 24. Everyone, hang your heads high. We were admirable, and no one can take that away from us. I read the document and have had numerous concerns about certain language and terms of the Agreement. It is wrong to connect he need for waterlines with any irreversible waiver of our water rights. There is no funding for these proposed pipelines. Yet we just agreed to give away our water to all the coyotes who have been stealing it from our people and Nation for years. As far as I’m concerned all the waters that flow off and within the Four Sacred Mountains is ours. We should never shortchange our future generations by leaving them no tools for survival. I further disagree with approving an agreement that will change after it leaves our chambers to conform to AZ State Legislation and then again to conform to Congressional legislation. I thank the 23 other delegates who voted no on a document that was written by and for non-Navajo interests.”

I wonder how many concrete foundations/mounts must be poured over the 6000 acress in order to achieve 1550 megawatts at high noon on a cloudless day. If It doesn't pan out as planned, then we rip out the 28,000 panels in the future and we're left with thousands of concrete mounts in the ground (imagine an abandoned run-down parking lot). OR, probably less than an acre to punch a hole in the ground and suck out the oil and gas. Ah, but no oil and gas exists there you say. Maybe, maybe not, but it does exist somewhere, so go get it. BUT, that means more CO into the environment. Get over the CO issue, 2 billion plus Chinese and Indians want a Toyota, and they are spewing CO left and right in order to spew more from that new Toyota they plan on buying.
The alternative energy projects and their backers are pathetic. Was this what Van Jones was talking about when he said "Give them back their land"? I am sorry for the Indian tribe and I hope they will prevail in stopping this multinational corporation from building on their land.
I do love the irony of knowing that one of the reasons given for stopping the project is a species of lizard being endangered. Nothing like a bunch of green libs being halted by the same type of arguments that they have used for years to stop people from using their own land.
Imperial Valley is one and the other is the Calico Solar project, which along with the Imperial Valley will produce about 1,550 megawatts of clean, renewable energy annually."
What? This doesn't make sense. It's like saying "I run far because I run 10 miles per hour every day." The megawatt is NOT a unit of energy, it is a unit of power. The energy produced should be given in units of megawatt-hours. The measurement should be megawatt-hours.
The 1550 megawatts power number is when the sun is shining in the middle of a summer day. Take into account nights, low morning, evening and winter sun angles and short winter days and you are down to 25% of that. This is percentage is called Capacity Factor, everyone in the business knows what it is, yet they prefer the summer-midday-sun figure since most listeners will be fooled since they are not technical power people and don't understand the difference. This is deliberate fraud. Oh and by the way, solar power needs water to produce electric, so there goes their water supply! Nothing is sacred!

If they would speak in megawatt-hours produced they would not be able to lie so easily.

This is nothing but a land grab by the Federal Government. The Feds are buying this land and a lot of other land that hasn't come to our attention yet. Then they make it into recreation areas for the public The wind mills are just a diversion. This is so typical of the progressives. They won't show respect for the American Indian but they will bow down to American Muslims...we still have more work to do to vote the rest of the progressives out! Rome wasn't built in a day. And the Socialist's, Marxist's, and Communist's, excuse me! Progressive's have been quietly digging in since 1900. They won't go down without a fight!

Solar panels belong on buildings, not hundreds of miles from the usage. This causes no environmental problems or profits for PG&E or Edison Co, there in lies the problem. Most property owners in the south west, can produce their own power and bypass a middleman that is Gov. controled [PUC] or taxed, fined, fees, and litigated, which must be paid by the consumer. This has more to do with Gov. taxes, and other extortion than it does "green" or shovel ready. There are questions that true environmentalists should be asking that are more important than a lizard.
I have so many problems with this issue I don't know where to begin, but I'll try.

Native Americans have little to hang on to beyond their heritage and faith, living mostly on land nobody thought would have any value...but then oil, coal, uranium, and lets not forget the gemstones and artifacts among this worthless barren land is found, then a place to put solar panels...or uranium deposits...whatever.
So, we take some of it back through government action. I don't like lawyers, but in this case any legal obstacles that can be thrown in front of this wasteful, thoughtless project I will applaud!
Secondly, since when do we talk about creating American jobs and then contract with a foreign firm to do taxpayer funded projects. Obama is so full of it!
Third, I gag when I see all of those stupid "windmills" ruining our beautiful foothills and valleys in California. Doesn't anyone else find those things offensive? I'd rather have deep water oil rigs off the coast than those panels and windmills all over our landscape. What the heck?
Fourth, the Native Americans shouldn't have to make the argument about their religious faith being compromised by the government's actions...just look at what it has done for Christians. Seems religion is getting to be not a viable reason! If it's not Alla they seem to think it's not a religion.
As for the archeological sites and wildlife habitats, specifically that of the flat-tailed horned lizard, which has a part in the tribe’s religious creation stories. They cared not for the Navajo's archeological sites and wildlife habitat, as they ripped up and destroyed hyrogliphic's and ancient graveyards, sacred plants that are no linger in existence. And
I also have serious issues about relocating 12,000 Tribesmen off their lands so that coal and yellowcake could be extracted, leaving them to face hardships .
Tribal peoples of America are independent nations with whom we have treaties. Technically they would have no claim on tax dollars except where individuals have acquired Social Security numbers and paid into this scheme plan. Independent nations cannot sue in our courts without express permission of state or federal government. Since a foreign company is also involved, it is obviously a "stimulus" to the foreign country in which they are incorporated - not America.
I thought that the US Government had no authority on Indian Land? More Obama Theft?
Exactly. The FBI is allowed for things like murder. The UN is who we go to for most everything else.
Why would they want to put them in the desert anyway? Solar panels belong on the facilities using the energy produced by them. I support the Quechan on this one.

Solar fields are very water intensive. Where are they going to get the water, there is little left in the Colorado River for that area! Also, if they do built the solar field the water usage would deplete the Tribes own water supply as what happened on the Hopi Reservation here in Arizona. The Hopi eventually terminated their long contract with Peabody Coal so that their springs would flow again. The Hopi have strict tribal laws against casino's on sacred lands, they invest in real estate in Northern Arizona for tribal income.

Don't be fooled by the 1550 megawatt number from Tessera, the project owner. That number is when the sun is shining on a hot summer day. Take into account nights, low sun angles in morning, evenings and winter, and short winter days, and the real number is one quarter of that.
Having been a party to the Energy Commission hearings, Tessera's claim of 'lengthy and thorough conversations with Native Americans and other interested parties' is fiction.
The project, like other fast-track desert solar projects, will get free government money to get it started, then the government will take all risk by providing a loan guarantee from the Department of Energy. Electricity rates paid to Tessera are secret - Tessera says their contract prohibits disclosure. The result: Public money, credit and land are being used for a project not US owned, and we don't even get to know how much electricity will cost.

Another costly, make-work, feel-good, high-maintenance "green" project. Solar generates very little power for the investment, it requires constant upkeep, and the panels have to be replaced every so often. Check out the solar power array in Andalusia, Spain - they have 24/7 crews going around replacing malfunctioning panels, drive motors, etc. No doubt costs a nice pile of Euros for that maintenance, and that cost is no doubt passed on to the end users.

BUSTED! Conyers Meets With Marxists - How Democrat Politics REALLY Works

This post proves a point I have long made: that Democratic Congressmen are willing to collude with marxists in order to promote socialist legislation and to influence the political direction of the United States.

This is how the modern Democratic Party actually works - in partnership (often junior partnership, at that) with hard core marxists.

Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D MI), chair of the powerful House Judiciary Committee has been caught on tape, meeting with members of the U.S.'s largest marxist organization Democratic Socialists of America.

The tape clearly shows Conyers treating the marxists as friends. He continually refers to the gathering as "we", as he urges the comrades to rally behind his "beloved 44th president", Barack Obama.

The tape, posted on the D.S.A. Vimeo site, was filmed before the recent One Nation Rally in Washington DC, and shows Conyers speaking to a meeting of D.S.A. members in what appears to be an hotel room.

The website clearly states that this is a D.S.A. meeting and Conyers is introduced to the gathering by D.S.A. National director Frank Llewellyn. Prominent Boston D.S.A. member David Duhalde appears on the right, behind Llewellyn, wearing a beard, black T shirt and a cap.

In the first few seconds, Conyers is introduced by Frank Llewellyn as the "only congressman endorsed by Martin Luther King".

Llewellyn then notes Conyers' "long support for HR 676, the single payer Bill that this organization [D.S.A.] has long supported".

D.S.A. has indeed "long supported HR 676", which sprang from the "single payer" health care movement midwived by Chicago physician and D.S.A. member Quentin Young - a close personal friend of both John Conyers and President Barack Obama.

At about 34 seconds Llewellyn states, "many might not know that John is in the process of introducing sweeping legislation to address the jobs crisis - which is certainly one of the most important crises we face and one of the reasons why we're all here today."

At 60 seconds Conyers starts talking, addressing Frank Llewellyn by name and then says,

"Its good to know that a lot of my Michigan and Detroit and Grosse Point people are here. David Green, and Dave and Herman and probably others."
David Green is a leader of both Michigan and national D.S.A. Green visited Cuba in 2009 and proved his marxism with this statement in the Spring 2007 issue of D.S.A.'s Democratic Left.

"What distinguishes socialists from other progressives is the theory of surplus value. According to Marx, the secret of surplus value is that workers are a source of more value than they receive in wages. The capitalist is able to capture surplus value through his ownership of the means of production, his right to purchase labor as a commodity, his control over the production process, and his ownership of the final product. Surplus value is the measure of capital’s exploitation of labor

Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production. Our immediate task is to limit the capitalist class’s prerogatives in the workplace...

In the short run we must at least minimize the degree of exploitation of workers by capitalists. We can accomplish this by promoting full employment policies, passing local living wage laws, but most of all by increasing the union movement’s power...

The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) provides an excellent organizing tool (i.e., tactic) through which we can pursue our socialist strategy while simultaneously engaging the broader electorate on an issue of economic populism.
This is one of John Conyers' "people". Coincidentally Conyers is also a big fan of the EFCA.

After a "new agey" rave about the "oneness" of everything (cut out of this video), Conyers thanks the gathering for coming to the march and at 1:30 minutes goes on to say:

"This is an important event, that we don't doubt will be played down and misinterpreted by the corporate media...We understand the significance of it. We know that when unions, political ideology, clergy, labor, civil rights come together... and just people that are progressive enough to see in this one World concept, that we're all in this together, it makes certain things easy to understand where we're coming from."
At 2:25 minutes, Conyers talks about "peace" and Dennis Kucinich.

"Overriding it all is the quest for peace in the world...and I am firmly supporting Congressman Dennis Kucinich's measure that would make a Department of Peace in the United States Federal government." (applause)
John Conyers was once an affiliate of the Soviet front World Peace Council. Like Kucinich, Conyers also has a long history with the Communist Party USA, which has consistently advocated such measures.

At 4:20 minutes, Conyers moves on to the "question of my beloved 44th president of the United States."

Conyers criticizes America's war in Afghanistan and how "we" need to "make it clear to him, through all the usual means of communication, including pickets and protests....there probably isn't anybody above the 10th grade who doesnt know that you cannot win a war in Afghanistan." (laughter).

At 7:35 minutes Conyers says of Obama;

"I respect him, I support him... I say that all against the backdrop, of the fact that in 2012, there is a highly organized effort to make sure that he is a one term president.

This started even before he was sworn in. It's grown... I only mention the Tea Party, because it is small and dismissible, but there are much more serious and affluent sources behind this effort to interfere with a re-election campaign of Obama... I've got to ensure he is re-elected 2 years from now. That calls for some balancing, but not a whole lot from where I stand."
At 6.10 minutes Conyers goes on to deal with how those assembled need to help Obama.

"I see that us making him more cooperative with our plans is going to strengthen him and not weaken him... (applause) And to have this press secretary of his denouncing the left is an automatically dismissible act, if I were president...

The whole point is that, trashing progressives and the left, and at the same time watching your ratings go down - gee... what's so difficult about figuring that out?... Whose job do you think it is to get him straightened out and get him on the right track? Ours! Ours!" (applause)
D.S.A. has tried to publicly distance itself from Obama in recent times, though they have a twenty seven year history with the President. Even Conyers has publicly criticized the President.

Clearly, John Conyers understands he is among friends, who are just as pro-Obama as he is. In private, Conyers and D.S.A. are right behind their man.

Like Obama, John Conyers has a long history with D.S.A.

John Conyers was a special guest on day one of the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee/New American Movement Unity Convention in Detroit March 21/22 1982, that resulted in the formation of D.S.A.
In 2003 John Conyers was a keynote speaker at the D.S.A. national conference in Detroit - with 2008 Obama Black Advisory Council member Cornel West and the first journalist to promote obama on the national stage, the Washington Post's Harold Meyerson.
In 2005 D.S.A'.s Democratic Left -Spring edition, called "Congressman John Conyers (a key D.S.A. ally in Congress)..."

The real secret of contemporary U.S. Politics is this:

Under today's Democratic Party, much of the legislation they push for is not made by Democrats. It is actually formulated by organizations close to D.S.A. and the Communist Party. It is then infiltrated into Congress by socialist sympathizers like John Conyers and his comrades, in the more than eighty strong, D.S.A. co-founded Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Socialized health care, the grossly mis-named Employee Free Choice Act, the current push to "normalize" relations with Cuba, even the campaign for a national holiday in honor of D.S.A. and the Communist Party's best friend Cesar Chavez, are all communist/socialist initiatives.

If this sounds far fetched, remember that in most U.S. states the Democratic Party is almost totally dependent on labor unions for manpower and money.

Since D.S.A. member John Sweeney became president of the AFL-CIO in 1995, the once anti-communist U.S. labor movement has come under near complete marxist control.

Think of it this way. Just as the Mafia once used "respectable" front-men to control Las Vegas casinos, the marxists use "respectable" Democrats, kept in line with labor union "muscle" to control your Houses of Congress.

That's how it works America.

Public Testimony of Traditional and Marginalized Lakota to Expose Graft, Bias and Corruption in BIA Tribal Government Practices

PINE RIDGE, S. D. – If the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) keeps their word, members of the Oglala Lakota of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota may be facing a historic meeting with the U.S. Government.

The DOJ promise to meet with the “poor people”, full-blooded Lakota and traditional people was sparked by the unexpected take over of the June 18th Section 611 Consultation in Rapid City, S.D., between United States officials and members of the U.S. created Oglala Lakota Government by the Lakota warrior society known as Cante Tenza (Strong Heart).

Cante Tenza took over the meeting on behalf of many Lakota who have watched for decades while the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) supported Oglala Tribal Government has squandered or stolen millions of dollars in U.S. support while alienating and even attacking full-blooded and traditional Lakota and the traditional Lakota systems of governance.

“The officials in tribal government don’t speak for the people, they don’t know how,” explained Cante Tenza headsman Canupa Gluha Mani (Duane Martin Sr.) who helped lead the June 18th take over. “This consultation is with a tribal government that people don’t trust, making systems that don’t even speak our language.”

While tribal council officials objected to the interruption and left the building, traditional warrior society members continued meeting with U.S. government agencies and secured a promise in writing that the Justice Department would visit Pine Ridge to meet with Lakota who have faced economic, social and physical attack by corrupt BIA governments for decades.

In a letter sent to Leslie Hagan, Native American Issues Coordinator for the United States Attorneys of the Department of Justice, Canupa Gluha Mani (Duane Martin Sr.) repeated the cause for the meeting, “It is long overdue for the Department of Justice and FBI to stop supporting the destruction of the Lakota people and our sacred way of life, and instead face-up to its continued support of an illegal and corrupt tribal government whose actions perpetuate injustice, misery and death in our nation. ”

Few people outside of Pine Ridge understand the history of the illegal tribal government that was imposed on the Oglala Lakota and its support of U.S. Government efforts to force assimilation and attack traditional and full-blooded people by keeping them away from their own language and culture. The famous 1973 takeover of Wounded Knee by native activists and Oglala tribal members was a reaction to this forced assimilation that continues today.

“This meeting is one step in healing these injustices and returning freedom and sovereignty to our noble people. Its time we step up to the pedestal and express our credibility,” Martin said.

I cannot understand the Government; Obama has been offering all kinds of things to all the Nations, giving back to a sense, for everything bad that has happened to us from the time the white man set foot on American soil. Offering us more law enforcement; medical; clean up of hazardous waste and an assortment of other offerings...all the while stealing land; mineral resource's; water rights, our right's to anything important to our survivial on what's left of our lands after the BIA and McCain and all his buddies destroyed it. Since 1944 The Government & the BIA has had a hand in ripping the Indian Nation's very existance from Mother Earth! We are human beings! Can't you get this through your head's? We've always been this.....All we are trying to do is peacefully live our live's on what little land you crowded us onto back in the 1800's/1900's! Little did all of us, both the Nation's and the Government know that we were sitting on a virtual gold mine of coal and yellow cake. Once the Government found this out, they have destroyed us in every way imaginable! We go to the UN for help and they do nothing! We take it to the Supreme Court and are ruled against...even when they side with us; The Government goes on with what they were doing and everyone turns and looks the other way.
It puts me in such a rage! It sickens me! Where is the people out there that can help the NDN Nations and why won't they step forward and help us?

The water rights settlement being proffered by bureaucrats, certain politicians, and longtime water attorney Stanley Pollack has been recently discussed at chapters of Western Navajo asking for their consent to the agreement.

The settlement, a fraction of the aboriginal claim of the Dine’, has been represented as the “best offer we could get." The question becomes who is it best for?

These leaders understood they must fight for the protection of the homeland and still leave a great legacy for the coming generations. Skillful leaders afterwards grew the Nation to its’ present size. After the removal of former Navajo Chairman Peter MacDonald, it was interesting to see where the attorneys went, who were involved in his removal. One of those attorneys were to DC and worked in water rights, and the others went to southern Arizona to "negotiate" Indian Nations water rights settlements with the federal government.

Earlier, during the federal trial of MacDonald, a Navajo businessman told me the bottom line of the imprisonment of Peter MacDonald. He said, "This about water rights."

The US Environmental Protection Agency has entered into two enforcement actions, both of which will result in the cleaning up of uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation and Hopi reservations, according to a press release issued by the EPA on Sept. 13.
In one settlement, Rio Algom Mining LLC, a subsidiary of Canadian corporation BHP Billiton, has agreed to control releases of radium (a decay product of uranium) from the Quivira Mine Site, near Gallup, N.M. The company will also conduct a comprehensive investigation of the levels of contamination at the site.

Under the second settlement, the U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs will begin a comprehensive investigation of the levels of uranium and other contaminants in the waste, soils and groundwater at a landfill in Tuba City. It will also evaluate the feasibility of a range of cleanup actions.

From 1944 to 1986, millions of tons of uranium ore were mined from these lands. While the mines are now closed, the contamination from some 500 of them remains, as do homes built with contaminated mine waste and contaminated water wells. Potential health effects from this contamination include lung cancer, bone cancer and impaired kidney function.
In January 2008, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform directed five federal agencies (Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of Energy, Indian Health Services and Nuclear Regulatory Commission) to work together to address this problem. They developed a five-year plan to address contaminated homes, wells, mine sites, mills and dumps. The recently announced cleanup efforts are part of this plan.
The coordinated plan has already resulted in the replacement of 14 homes, the assessment of more than 200 mines and funding for water systems that will serve over 3,000 people with clean water, Jared Blumenfeld, Regional Administrator for EPA's Pacific Southwest Region, said in the release.

On June 23, 2010, Republican Representative Sue Myrick had written to Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, requesting that she,"Engage U.S. and Mexican law enforcement and border patrol officials about Hezbollah's presence, activities, and connections to gangs and drug cartels."

SELLS, Ariz. – The Tohono O’odham Nation and Arizona’s intertribal council have passed resolutions against S.B. 1070 – an anti-immigration state law that has unleashed a storm of protest from opponents who say it is a racist call to discriminate against people of color.

The Tohono O’odham Legislative Council passed a resolution May 19 opposing S.B. 1070 as “discriminatory state legislation” and supporting “lawful measures to repeal or invalidate” it.

Tohono O’odham Chairman Ned Norris Jr. presented the resolution to the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona. On June 4, the council’s 20 members unanimously approved a separate resolution against the law, council Executive Director John Lewis said. Both resolutions will be brought to the National Congress of American Indians at its mid-year meeting June 20 – 23 in Rapid City, S.D., where the congress will be asked to adopt a resolution opposing S.B. 1070.

S.B. 1070, which was signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer April 23, makes the failure to carry immigration documents a crime and gives police officers virtually unrestricted power to detain anyone they have a “reasonable suspicion” of being in the country illegally.

Police officers may consider race, color, or national origin to determine “reasonable suspicion” – an open invitation to racial profiling that is highlighted in the O’odham resolution.

“By failing to provide a definition for the ‘reasonable suspicion’ that allows state law enforcement officers to investigate immigrations status, S.B. 1070 encourages racial profiling that will disproportionately affect minority residents with legal immigration status.”

Furthermore, S.B. 1070 will also impact Arizona’s huge Native population, the resolution says.

“Although Native Americans have been present in what is now Arizona since time immemorial, many tribal members speak English as a second language, do not speak English, or were not issued birth certificates and lack documentation establishing their citizenship and lawful residence in the United States, and S.B. 1070 therefore will expose Arizona tribal members to arrest if they are suspected of being illegal aliens and cannot document their citizenship or lawful presence in the United States.”

The problem will be particularly acute on Tohono O’odham land, which is dissected east and west by state Highway 86. Tribal members use the highway and even sometimes hitchhike on it to get into Tucson, and therefore are vulnerable to any state law enforcement officer with a “reasonable suspicion” that those tribal members are illegal, Norris said. The police would have the authority to question and detain tribal members who couldn’t prove their citizenship.

“S.B. 1070 has the potential to create tension between law enforcement and the community not only outside the O’odham nation, but also inside the nation on Highway 86. Our concern is if a segment of the community is afraid to cooperate with the (state) police it’s our view that everyone in the community suffers,” Norris said.

While S.B. 1070 has a provision to acknowledge tribal enrollment cards as allowable identification, the O’odham resolution opposes requiring members to carry proof that they are “lawfully present within their aboriginal homelands.”

Tohono O’odham’s aboriginal territory was huge, covering southwestern lands extending south to Sonora, Mexico, north to central Arizona north of Phoenix, west to the Gulf of California, and east to the San Pedro River.

Even now, the nation has a vast homeland of 2.8 million acres in the U.S, but it is cut off from nine O’odham communities in Sonora by the international U.S.-Mexico border. The nation has an arrangement with the Department of Homeland Security and border patrol agents to acknowledge tribal identification cards to allow members from Mexico to travel north to avail themselves of health and other services the nation offers, a system that works “fairly well,” Norris said.

But it is the thousands of undocumented migrants crossing the 75-mile border onto O’odham land that presents the nation with unique challenges and expenses. S.B. 1070 does nothing to alleviate those problems, Norris said.

“It’s our belief that 1070 fails to address the border security crisis and it fails to address the need for comprehensive immigration reform.”

The O’odham nation spends more than $3 million a year dealing with the flood of illegal migrants coming through its territory, including expenses for border security, death investigations, drug trafficking investigations, trash removal and other services. The rate of migration has at times reached 1,500 people a day and now is around 700 – 800 people a day, Norris said.

O’odham’s law enforcement officers spend up to 60 percent of their time dealing with border security issues, taking away time that should be spent on protecting tribal members over the rest of the nation’s vast territory, Norris said. The nation receives no reimbursement for these expenses.

The solution is comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level, not a state law that will have disastrous consequences for the people and the state of Arizona, Norris said.

“The U.S. government needs to look at its current policies on how it addresses immigration. We believe immigration reform could make it more appropriate for persons, in this case, Mexican citizens, to become U.S. citizens. The process now is so cumbersome and discouraging and it’s not working.”

Norris said the nation also supports measures that would allow migrant workers to come into the country as guest workers. The problems of immigration are separate from the problems related to the crimes of drug trafficking.

“When we look at the migrants, all the migrants want to do is make a living for themselves and be in a position to contribute to the welfare of their own families. We believe if the U.S. reformed how it addresses immigration that would have much more of a positive impact in addressing illegal migrant activities than we currently have to deal with.”

Only Native American U.S. Attorney to be Replaced

The Arizona Republic is reporting that President Obama is poised to replace the first and only Native American to serve as a U.S. attorney.

Dianne Humetewa, an enrolled member of the Hopi tribe, worked her way up through the ranks of the U.S. attoney's office, starting as a tribal liaison and victim rights advocate. She was appointed to the post 18 months ago by former President George W. Bush.

Humetewa will likely be replaced by Phoenix lawyer Dennis Burke, who was formerly the chief of staff for former Ariz. Gov. Janet Napolitano. Some are charging that his appointment to the post is political patronage.

Obama, as if holding a knife, slashing one by one from positions our Native women and men worked hard for most their lives and replacing them with sleazy, people who are using politics to move to a higher position within our government! It's all about power folks! Power! They don't care who they destroy along the way!

Native Americans Against Obama came about for two good reasons. The first reason covers Obama's total lack of knowledge concerning world issues as to how an American president should respond to a global issue. The second reason covers Obama not standing behind his word to meet with Native American leaders. Obama it seems also made it a point not to attend a meeting with the National Congress Of American Indians held in Reno Nevada during the primary.

Obama, during the democratic primary campaign, stated he supported Native American issues. Obama even stated he supported bringing about a national holiday that recognizes Native Americans, but to date Obama has not seen fit as a U.S. senator to add his name to the national Native American Holiday Bill, currently before the U.S. Senate.

Not only has Obama failed to support Native American Indian issues, Obama has not supported the Native Hawaiian Government Recognition Bill before the U.S. Senate during his first term in office as a U.S. Senator. Obama should be front-and-center of this issue as he proudly claims Hawaii as his home state.

Across the country, many American Indian schools are in shambles for lack of federal funding to maintain them. A multitude of American Indian schools are being forced to close because they cannot run a full school term on the small amount of allocated federal funding available.

NATIVE AMERICAN POVERTY RATE: A NATIONAL SICK JOKE!

Obama made no economic commitment to Native Americans that he would bring about a national Indian business empowerment program dedicated to ending the high rate of unemployment, poverty, and total lack of financial institutions willing to support Native American Communities on reservations to develop a self-sustaining business infrastructure. Obama is aware of Native Americans today that are being economically starved from their reservation lands while the federal government supports numerous foreign countries with billions of our tax dollars each year to support their economic well-being, Obama will not change that status-quo.

OBAMA HAS NO PLAN FOR "CHANGE" FOR NATIVE AMERICANS

Obama has not shown Native Americans that he has the leadership capabilities, nor personal willingness to fully address and implement a policy of change that would help Native Americans should he be elected president. The more Obama talks about "Change", Native Americans see "No Change Nor Commitment" for them with Obama as president.

Mr. REHBERG. Madam Speaker, a few

weeks ago, I stood on the floor of the House

of Representatives to express the outrage I'm

hearing from Montanans regarding H.R. 45

and similar bills that erode our Second

Amendment rights and make eventual confiscation

of firearms easier. Even gun-control advocates

understand that this bill goes too far.

They promise that H.R. 45 will never pass.

Notice, they don't say it shouldn't pass-

only that it won't.

Some of my colleagues here in Washington,

D.C. wish it could pass. And that's why it remains

so important to stand our ground

against The Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and

Record of Sale Act and similar measures.

Thomas Jefferson wrote, ''The price of freedom

is eternal vigilance.'' While public outcry

has made H.R. 45 a politically unattractive

proposal for now, make no mistake about it: if

we ease back, even for a moment, opponents

of the Second Amendment will take advantage.

Against H.R. 45.'' It has been incredible to

watch the response as friends have invited

friends to join and people posted their opinions

on ''The Wall'' for others to read. In a little

over two weeks, the group has more than

1,500 members, with more joining every day.

Sadly a bill like H.R. 45 isn't politically unattractive

because it's a bad idea. Congress

passes bad ideas every day. It's politically unattractive

because Americans like those in my

Facebook group are taking Thomas Jefferson's

advice and remaining vigilant. It's politically

unattractive because of the grassroots

advocacy that has arisen against it.

To make it clear that advocates of liberty

will pay the price of vigilance for our freedom,

here is a sampling of some of the comments

that were written on the wall in that angry little

corner of Facebook.

''The ability to bear arms has much more

to do with being able to protect one's self

then it does for those hunting. I used a 22

rifle once to keep an invader out of my

apartment. I didn't have any ammo but all

the guy needed to see was my gun pointing

at him when he broke into my front door, he

promptly left and I was one less victim of

who knows what crime. Don't take that

right to defend myself away from me. I don't

want to be a statistic!''-Jaclyn Colebank

''As once was written, 'If guns kill people

then pencils misspell words.' As an avid gun

owner and 25 year old female I appreciate the

constitution and the rights we have been

given. The second amendment assists us in

protecting the first. If someone decides to

break into my home and deprive me of my

protect those rights using a firearm if necessary.''-

disarmed. Statistics prove that areas that

have gun bans have a much higher crime

While H.R 45 does not outright ban

guns, it would impair the purchase and ownership

of arms to the point to where it would

have the same effect as a ban, and as such

H.R. 45 should be considered unconstitutional.

Opponents will claim as long as there

is the opportunity to buy a gun, however

small, the second amendment would not be

violated. This is an abuse of the definition

and meaning of the second amendment, unfairly

restricting the scope of amendment

and marginalizing it until rendered ineffective.''-

Upon returning from the world apology tour, wherein he groveled and whined and generally behaved like an emasculated child raised by a single mother, with empty hands, empty pockets (as the worlds bullies took his lunch money on the worlds playground) and a brand new plan, President Obama set out to show what he had learned. Winning an election is not good enough. You must then embarrass, humiliate and possibly imprison your competition. Welcome to Barack’s Banana Republic, aka America.

The Constitution is slipping through Americans fingers like the mercurial republic it creates. We cannot let this President drag a former president through the mud, for actions taken to protect America after attacks on our soil. Particularly when the former President and his legal team based his decisions and actions upon a definition of torture created by the Democrat controlled congress of 1994.

Logic dictates that if you use a definition of torture, that comes from the legislative body of the United States of America, then they are the ones you seek to punish, not the person who used that definition to protect America. Of course, logic does not seem to apply to the Obama presidency.

. I will be glad to tell you about Crazy Horse or any others of our old
time chiefs about whom you may wish to know because I am an old man now
and shall not live many years longer and it is time for me to tell these
things. Whatever I tell you will be the exact truth, because I was in a
position to know what I talk about. There are a lot of old Indians
hanging about the reservation who like to talk to the white people and
would just as soon tell you anything, whether it is true or not. They are
men whom we would not have had as servants, those of us who were Chiefs
in the old days.
I and Crazy Horse were both born in the same year and at the same
season of the year. We grew up together in the same band, played
together, courted the girls together and fought together. I am now
ninety-two years old, so you can figure out in what year he was born by
your calendar. When we were 17 or 18 years old we separated. Crazy
Horse went to the Rosebud Band (that is to the Brules, of whom Spotted
Tail was Chief a little later) of Indians and stayed with them for about
a year. Then he came home. After he had been back for a while, I made
inquiries about why he had left the Rosebud band. I was told he had to
come back because he had killed a Winnebago woman. (According to ancient
Lakota custom, coup could be counted on an enemy woman if she was killed
in the sight of the fighting men of her tribe. The theory was that the
enemy would fight even harder to protect or avenge one of their women
than one of their men. But the Brules were already agency Indians and
the authorities took a different attitude about it. Apparently Crazy
Horse himself changed his mind about the ethics of this custom if the
speech of his reported by Captain Hans in "The Great Sioux Nation" is
correct).
Less than a year after Crazy Horse left camp, I joined in a trip
against the Crow Indians. WHen I got home, the crier was announcing that
Crazy Horse was back in camp. Only his name was not Crazy Horse at that
time. He has three names at different times of his life. His name until
he was about ten years old was Curly Hair. Later, from the time he was
ten until the time he was about eighteen years of age, he was called
His-Horse-On-Sight, but this name did not stick to him. When he was
about eighteen years old there was a fight with the Arapahos who were up
on a high hill covered with big rocks and near a river. Although he was
just a boy, he charged them several times alone and came back wounded but
with two Arapaho scalps. His father, whose name was Crazy Horse, made a
feast and gave his son his own name. After that, the father was no
longer called by the name he had given away, but was called by a
nickname, Worm.
Crazy Horse, the son, was one of three children. The oldest was a
Sister, the next was Crazy Horse, and the third was a Brother. All are
dead now.
When we were young men, the Oglala band divided into two parts, one
led by Red Cloud and one by Man-Afraid-of-His-Horse, the elder. I and
Crazy Horse stayed with the part led by Man-Afraid-Of-His-Horse. Later
this half subdivided again into two parts. I stayed with the more Northern
half of which I and Big Road, and later Holy Bald Eagle and Red Cloud,
were appointed joint Chiefs ("shirt wearers", so called from a particular
kind of ceremonial shirt worn by this class of chieftain as insignia of
office).
Crazy Horse remained with the Southern quarter of the tribe. The
council of this division awarded the chieftainship to Crazy Horse,
American Horse, Young-Man-Afraid-Of-His-Horse, and Sword. It was many
years after our first battles before we were made Chiefs. A man had to
distinguish himself in many fights and in peace as well before he could
be chosen as a Chief.
(After consultation together, He Dog and the interpreter dated these
appointments as having been made about 1865 by the white man's calendar)
The name of Crazy Horse's band was the Hunkpatila (End of Circle) band
because when the tribe was encamped together it occupied one end of the
tribal crescent.
At about the time these appointments were made Crazy Horse moved
towards the White Mountains (Indian name of the Big Horn Mountains).
Crazy Horse and I went together on a war trip to the other side of the
mountains. When we came back, the people came out of the camp to meet us
and escorted us back and at a big ceremony presented us with two spears,
the gift of the whole tribe, which was met together. These spears were
each three or four hundreds years old and were given by the older
generation to those in the younger generation who had best lived the life
of a warrior.
Crazy Horse was still single when he was made a "shirt wearer". A few
years after this he began to pay attention to the wife of a man named No
Water. No Water did not want to let the woman go.
In the Battle "When They Chased The Crows Back To Camp", (1870) He Dog
and Crazy Horse were the lance bearers of the Kangi Yuhn (Crow Owner's
Society). About ten days after that battle Crazy Horse started off on a
smaller war expedition and No Water's wife went along with him.
No Water followed them and came to the tipi of Bad Heart Bull and
asked to borrow a certain good revolver (Bad Heart Bull was a brother of
He Dog and is now dead) which Bad Heart Bull owned. He said he wanted to
go hunting. Crazy Horse and the woman were sitting by the fire in a tipi
belonging to some of their friends. No Water entered the tipi, walked up
to Crazy Horse as near as I am to that stove (about four feet) and shot
him through the face. The bullet entered just below the left nostril.
That is how Crazy Horse got his scar. No Water took his wife back.
Because of all this, Crazy Horse could not be a "shirt wearer" any
longer. When we were made Chiefs, we were bound by very strict rules as
to what we should do and what not do, which were very hard for us to
follow. I have never spoken to nay but a very few persons of what they
made us promise them. I have always kept the oaths I made then, but
Crazy Horse did not.
Later on the older, more responsible men of the tribe conferred
another kind of Chieftainship on Crazy Horse. He was made War Chief of
the whole Oglala tribe. A similar office was conferred on Sitting Bull
by the Hunkpapa tribe. This was still early, a long, long time before
the Custer fight. At this time the government did not know who we were.
Crazy Horse always led his men himself, when they went into battle,
and he kept well in front of them. He headed many charges and was many
times wounded in battle, but never seriously. He never wore a war
bonnet. A medicine man named Chips had given him power if he would wear in
battle an eagle bone whistle and one feather and a certain round stone
with a hole in it. He wore the stone under his left arm, suspended by a
leather thong that went over his shoulder. The one central feather that
is in the middle of the war eagle's tail, that was the feather he wore in
his hair.
(He Dog denied with a chuckle, various stories told about how Crazy
Horse on certain occasions threw away his rifle and charged in with a war
club or a riding quirt, a characteristic Indian mode of seeking death in
battle) Crazy Horse always stuck close to his rifle. He always tried to
kill as many as possible of the enemy without losing his own men.
He never spoke in council and attended very few. There was no special
reason for this, it was just his nature. He was a very quiet man except
when there was fighting.
Crazy Horse was married three times. The first time was to No Water's
wife, but she only stayed with him a few days. Shortly after that he
married Red Feather's sister. By her he had one child, a little girl who
died when about two years old. A long while after, when he had
surrendered at Ft. Robinson, he married a young half-breed girl. He did
not have any children by her.

-- CBS newsman Bob Schieffer referred to it while interviewing President Obama.

-- California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said at a Senate hearing: "It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors ... come from the United States."

-- William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified in the House of Representatives that "there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States."

There's just one problem with the 90 percent "statistic" and it's a big one:

It's just not true.

In fact, it's not even close. The fact is, only 17 percent of guns found at Mexican crime scenes have been traced to the U.S.

What's true, an ATF spokeswoman told FOXNews.com, in a clarification of the statistic used by her own agency's assistant director, "is that over 90 percent of the traced firearms originate from the U.S."

But a large percentage of the guns recovered in Mexico do not get sent back to the U.S. for tracing, because it is obvious from their markings that they do not come from the U.S.

"Not every weapon seized in Mexico has a serial number on it that would make it traceable, and the U.S. effort to trace weapons really only extends to weapons that have been in the U.S. market," Matt Allen, special agent of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told FOX News.

A Look at the Numbers

In 2007-2008, according to ATF Special Agent William Newell, Mexico submitted 11,000 guns to the ATF for tracing. Close to 6,000 were successfully traced -- and of those, 90 percent -- 5,114 to be exact, according to testimony in Congress by William Hoover -- were found to have come from the U.S.

But in those same two years, according to the Mexican government, 29,000 guns were recovered at crime scenes.

In other words, 68 percent of the guns that were recovered were never submitted for tracing. And when you weed out the roughly 6,000 guns that could not be traced from the remaining 32 percent, it means 83 percent of the guns found at crime scenes in Mexico could not be traced to the U.S.

So, if not from the U.S., where do they come from? There are a variety of sources:

-- The Black Market. Mexico is a virtual arms bazaar, with fragmentation grenades from South Korea, AK-47s from China, and shoulder-fired rocket launchers from Spain, Israel and former Soviet bloc manufacturers.

-- Russian crime organizations. Interpol says Russian Mafia groups such as Poldolskaya and Moscow-based Solntsevskaya are actively trafficking drugs and arms in Mexico.

- South America. During the late 1990s, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) established a clandestine arms smuggling and drug trafficking partnership with the Tijuana cartel, according to the Federal Research Division report from the Library of Congress.

-- Asia. According to a 2006 Amnesty International Report, China has provided arms to countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Chinese assault weapons and Korean explosives have been recovered in Mexico.

-- The Mexican Army. More than 150,000 soldiers deserted in the last six years, according to Mexican Congressman Robert Badillo. Many took their weapons with them, including the standard issue M-16 assault rifle made in Belgium.

-- Guatemala. U.S. intelligence agencies say traffickers move immigrants, stolen cars, guns and drugs, including most of America's cocaine, along the porous Mexican-Guatemalan border. On March 27, La Hora, a Guatemalan newspaper, reported that police seized 500 grenades and a load of AK-47s on the border. Police say the cache was transported by a Mexican drug cartel operating out of Ixcan, a border town.

'These Don't Come From El Paso'

Ed Head, a firearms instructor in Arizona who spent 24 years with the U.S. Border Patrol, recently displayed an array of weapons considered "assault rifles" that are similar to those recovered in Mexico, but are unavailable for sale in the U.S.

"These kinds of guns -- the auto versions of these guns -- they are not coming from El Paso," he said. "They are coming from other sources. They are brought in from Guatemala. They are brought in from places like China. They are being diverted from the military. But you don't get these guns from the U.S."

Some guns, he said, "are legitimately shipped to the government of Mexico, by Colt, for example, in the United States. They are approved by the U.S. government for use by the Mexican military service. The guns end up in Mexico that way -- the fully auto versions -- they are not smuggled in across the river."

Many of the fully automatic weapons that have been seized in Mexico cannot be found in the U.S., but they are not uncommon in the Third World.

The Mexican government said it has seized 2,239 grenades in the last two years -- but those grenades and the rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) are unavailable in U.S. gun shops. The ones used in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey in October and a TV station in January were made in South Korea. Almost 70 similar grenades were seized in February in the bottom of a truck entering Mexico from Guatemala.

"Most of these weapons are being smuggled from Central American countries or by sea, eluding U.S. and Mexican monitors who are focused on the smuggling of semi-automatic and conventional weapons purchased from dealers in the U.S. border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California," according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Boatloads of Weapons

So why would the Mexican drug cartels, which last year grossed between $17 billion and $38 billion, bother buying single-shot rifles, and force thousands of unknown "straw" buyers in the U.S. through a government background check, when they can buy boatloads of fully automatic M-16s and assault rifles from China, Israel or South Africa?

Alberto Islas, a security consultant who advises the Mexican government, says the drug cartels are using the Guatemalan border to move black market weapons. Some are left over from the Central American wars the United States helped fight; others, like the grenades and launchers, are South Korean, Israeli and Spanish. Some were legally supplied to the Mexican government; others were sold by corrupt military officers or officials.

The exaggeration of United States "responsibility" for the lawlessness in Mexico extends even beyond the "90-percent" falsehood -- and some Second Amendment activists believe it's designed to promote more restrictive gun-control laws in the U.S.

In a remarkable claim, Auturo Sarukhan, the Mexican ambassador to the U.S., said Mexico seizes 2,000 guns a day from the United States -- 730,000 a year. That's a far cry from the official statistic from the Mexican attorney general's office, which says Mexico seized 29,000 weapons in all of 2007 and 2008.

Chris Cox, spokesman for the National Rifle Association, blames the media and anti-gun politicians in the U.S. for misrepresenting where Mexican weapons come from.

"Reporter after politician after news anchor just disregards the truth on this," Cox said. "The numbers are intentionally used to weaken the Second Amendment."

"The predominant source of guns in Mexico is Central and South America. You also have Russian, Chinese and Israeli guns. It's estimated that over 100,000 soldiers deserted the army to work for the drug cartels, and that ignores all the police. How many of them took their weapons with them?"

But Tom Diaz, senior policy analyst at the Violence Policy Center, called the "90 percent" issue a red herring and said that it should not detract from the effort to stop gun trafficking into Mexico.

"Let's do what we can with what we know," he said. "We know that one hell of a lot of firearms come from the United States because our gun market is wide open

OBAMA'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU

Does President Obama truly believe that he can castigate and condemn Wall Street on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then secure its cooperation on the other days of the week?

Does he not understand that when he ignites a public furor over AIG bonuses and then incites Congress to pass a punitive tax, he sends shivers down the spines of every other corporate executive who makes a lot of money?

Does he seriously believe that Wall Street investors will not worry that their winnings, should they join the Treasury as partners in risky investments, would be subject to public abuse, publicity and confiscatory taxation?

Of course he realizes that his rhetoric makes it unlikely that his program will succeed. He obviously gets it that the entire concept of a public-private partnership is impossible amid a climate of waging class warfare, taxing the rich and heaping contempt on anyone who makes money. The president is quite bright and certainly understands that you cannot shake hands with your right while you launch a roundhouse with your left.

So why does Obama persist in his aggressive rhetoric? Why does he continue to treat Wall Street as something out of Dante's Inferno?

Because he's just not that into you! He doesn't really care if the public-private partnerships work out.

He sends Geithner out to announce the program because he doesn't want to make it his own. When he announces a stimulus plan or a new spending bill, it's Obama's moment before the teleprompter. But the public-private partnerships he leaves to his Treasury secretary to announce.

The most rational explanation for Obama's puzzling conduct -- sabotaging his own program by way of his own rhetoric -- is that he truly wants to be forced to nationalize the banks in pursuit of his ultimate goal of a socialist economy.

Obama has to oppose nationalization today in order to achieve it tomorrow. He has to show the country and the world that he is doing all he can to help the private sector to sort things out with government help. He must ostentatiously invite the hated demons of Wall Street to join him in rescuing the banks in order, later, to say that he did his best to avoid having to take over the banks. Only then will nationalization be an acceptable alternative -- when he has run out of other options.

Meanwhile, he makes sure the private sector won't play ball by going after their bonuses, sending an implicit message to the other executives on Wall Street that reads: Stay away.

Even when he takes over the banks, as he almost inevitably will, he is going to have to dress up the nationalization as a temporary measure forced on him by the economy and the previously unrealized depth of the problem. He will cite the example of Sweden, where the government nationalized the banks only temporarily and returned them to private hands quickly.

You can't be for nationalization. But Obama hopes to accomplish it nonetheless.

Already, in the TARP and TALF programs, we can see how eager he is to use government power to manipulate the once-private sector. Consider the mandates piling up on any financial institution that takes government funds: limits on executive pay, corporate travel and conferences; a strong Buy American recommendation; and aggressive action to get them to make consumer loans. Can affirmative action, low-income lending and diversity outreach be far behind?

If Obama can bring banks and the healthcare industry under government control, we will have de facto socialism. Is this Obama's goal? It is obviously where he is headed.

Is Obama a socialist? Rather than throw around labels, let's do the math. The best measure of whether an economy is government- or private sector-oriented is the percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP) that flows through government expenditure. Before the current fiscal crisis, the major nations stacked up as shown in the chart on page 27.

Obama's stimulus package, alone, comes to about 6 percent of GDP, vaulting the United States past Japan to 40 percent on the list above. If we add in the extra spending in the supplemental appropriations bill and the likely increases for healthcare, the total government percentage will rise well past 40 percent and probably close in on the United Kingdom's 43.

That's pretty socialistic, but Obama has three more years to get us up around Germany and really ruin our economy!

Alex Castellanos says President Obama's spending will create a mountain of debt and problems for Democrats.

(CNN) -- Things I learned Tuesday night from President Obama's press conference:

Obama and congressional Democrats are angry that greedy Wall Street executives took $165 million in bonuses that the president and congressional Democrats gave them.

We have made them give it back, but they have to keep the trillion-dollar bailout.

Apparently, our education system is worse than we thought. Neither the president nor Democrats in Congress actually read the bailout-bonus bill.

Per-family household debt more than doubled from 1989 to 2007, going from $42,000 per family to $97,000 per family, in inflation-adjusted dollars. Most of it, 85 cents of every dollar, is home equity or mortgage debt. This is not the consumer's fault for borrowing it, nor Congress' fault for legislating it, nor the Fed's fault for enabling it, nor Fannie Mae's or Freddie Mac's fault for packaging it. This is all Wall Street's fault.

It is also all George W. Bush's fault.

If there were an inheritance tax on problems, Obama could pay off any deficit.

Taxpayers living next to a toxic waste dump is a bad idea. Taxpayers buying a trillion dollars worth of toxic assets is good idea.

Taxpayers borrowing a trillion dollars to buy those toxic assets is an even better idea. Though it is still Bush's fault.

Obama isn't on the ballot next year, but Democrats in Congress are. You can make money betting they will lose more than 25 seats, but not as much money as by purchasing toxic assets with taxpayer dollars.

The problem with America's economy is that the last bubble, the "home-mortgage, derivative, credit default swap bubble" popped, as all economic bubbles eventually do. We must never let that happen again.

It is imperative that we re-inflate this bubble immediately.

If we all loan a lot of money we don't have to each other, we will all be more prosperous.

An Obama press conference offers hope to everyone. Both those who want to drive the deficit up and drive it down receive encouragement.

A dollar when given to failed auto companies or hollow banks has great stimulative value for the economy, but there's almost no dampening cost to the economy when the dollar is taken from taxpayers, who will have to pay our debt back.

If he does not drive the deficit down, within this decade, interest on the Obama debt will total more than a trillion dollars a year.

Bush was laughed at for saying, "Yes, we are getting the job done. It's hard work," though it's OK for Obama to say only hard decisions reach his desk.

Enhanced border security was a bad idea when Sen. John McCain and Republicans proposed it but a good idea now that Obama is for it.

Trickle-down economics from Republicans got us into this mess. Trickle-down government from Democrats will get us out of it.

Washington was doing such a great job making things work before the meltdown that we should give it more to do, like running health care, the energy industry, banks, Wall Street and the car business.

Our economy is so complex that millions of Americans can't plan for it, but Timothy Geithner and a couple of other smart guys in Washington can.

Political greed is more noble than corporate greed.

We have to short-change charities that help people, so government can help people.

Wall Street and the U.S. government are too big to fail though the American taxpayer isn't.

The Barack Obama experiment, conducted by this 47-year old man, is the riskiest economic wager the world has ever seen.

Next year, when this experiment in European-style socialism isn't working, the Democrats up for re-election will panic and make the spending this year look like an appetizer. To appear responsible, they then will raise taxes on "upper-income taxpayers" to the stratosphere, paralyzing investment and the economy.

Obama's communications gifts are powerful and poetic -- but round-the-clock campaigning on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," "60 Minutes" and this press conference won't save bad policy. Obama has never built a business, created real wealth or produced tangible prosperity. His understanding of our economy is theoretical and academic.

Obama is a privileged young man who has not yet made many mistakes in his life. Having a president who belongs to the Harvard elite and the community-organizer streets is not the same as having a president who has lived a long life among middle-class Americans and understands them.

Impatience lies not deep beneath the surface of Obama. There is no shortage of self-confidence in this young man. It is a short step from such confidence to arrogance.

Arrogance in a politician is not healthy. Hubris, combined with inexperience, can be fatal. Obama could be a one-term president.

Obama is looking a little older. There would be nothing wrong with acting like it.

Taxing the coal industry

When a president talks about taxing the rich and taxing businesses there is a price to be paid and this is an example of what begins to happen when you go too far. Oil and energy companies are beginning to make plans to move….. to Switzerland, and the reason is they want to avoid President Obama’s assault on their companies.

That hasn’t stopped McCain from going after the coal on the Navajo Reservation. He’s trying to take the “Bennett Freeze” amendant off the books in Congress,so he can force the relocation of the Navajo people, AGAIN! He has already forced 12,000 of them and relocated them in the radioactive contaminated aftermath of his partners in crime, the Peabody mining company, who are operating 24/7. They have bulldozed ancient sites, burial grounds,homes that are decades old. The dust that has been created is filling the Grand Canyon so that it is effecting visablity for the tourist industry. They are violating eco laws with all the mess that they have created. McCain is in a hurry all of the sudden, is it because Obama is gonna stick it to the coal industry? or is it they are running out of coal to mine and they need these poor people relocated to get at the remaining coal the area has to offer? Somethings made them to suddenly get the move on.
Or is Obama in on this too? I wonder where the Peabody Mining Company(the largest mining company in the world) is based out of, I’m sure it’s overseas. And I don’t trust McCain and his wife either.I wonder where they moved their many millions also. I'm not against coal mining, as long as it doesn't step on peoples toes, as they did on the Navajo Reservation. If you read Peabody's site, they clean up after they are through. They say they haven't operated the Arizona mine since 2005. I'd think they would have completed the cleanup of the toxic waste that still sits upon the land, the contaminated ground water and the drinking water, the desert plants that they destroyed that grew on the Navajo Rez and nowhere else in the world. Did they rebuild all the sacred sites and ancient burial grounds they bulldozed over? Last looked they had done a poor job on the biggest hazardous/radioactive spill in the world that they have hush-hushed up.
Thats my rant on the subject for some time now.They paid these people pennies on the dollar for the coal they took, and left them nothing but disaster of their reservation. Cancer, kidney disease, deformed babies. I seen a chart that the USAF did that showed wll the contamination left by these people. This land is unusable and deemed unfit to live on. Thank you McCain and various other Senator friends that pushed all the necessary requirements to destroy these people's lives!

Obama: Stop the Peabody Mine Expansion on Black Mesa

Ladies & Gentlemen, the Old, the Young, the Coming Generation, and Relatives:

As we speak, there exist a state of fear and anxiety in a traditional community at Big Mountain in the heart of Black Mesa. And as we speak, the federally deputized officers of the BIA Hopi Agency Police and Rangers are patrolling this region where a few traditional elders continue to live and also resist federal mandates to relocate. I want to bring your attention to one particular situation that is an example of the wide-spread acts of injustice, human rights violation, religious intolerance, and threats of property destruction.

Dineh resister and elder, Pauline Whitesinger, has stood her ground since 1977 when the BIA tried to build a range unit fence within the lands partitioned to the neighboring tribe, the (modern and progressive) Hopis. Pauline still believes in the old ways by upholding aboriginal rights and treaty rights and because of BIA-Hopi restriction on new contruction and her deteriorating ceremonial hogan, she replaced and rebuilt a new hogan. The BIA Indian police are constantly taken photographs of her residence, her neighbors that come to see her, her non-Indian volunteer helpers, and her grandchildren that come to visit. The police do not attempt to talk to her or answer to her concerns and requests.

This area known as the Hopi Partitioned Lands still has Dineh residents and has been made an isolated area, and this is allowing the federal government to do as they please with these last, traditional peoples. Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley, Jr. has even made numerous comments that the Dineh resistance at Big Mountain "a lost cause and a closed case" meaning that these Dineh are to never be thought of, again. Meaning that these Dineh, who are my Big Mountain relatives, need to be erased from the state of the Navajo Nation and perhaps, Pauline is right when she says, "we are in way of Peabody, profit, revenues, and industrial jobs."

The last few elder resisters and their few supporters (native or non-natives) will continue to provide the much needed humanitarian aide to our surviving history: traditional Dineh living and maintaining on their ancestral and sacred homelands. However, we all need to act in the best means possible and stop the daily Gestapo tactics and the potential demolishment of a sacred hogan or earth lodge. We all need to prevent any harm that may be committed on our elders or their helpers and most of all, prevent this growing hostility from getting out-of-hand.

All legal recourses are no longer an option since this is a challenge against a U.S. Executive Order, and The Peoples are the only option to bring about attention, focus and restoration.

I have attached a petition with addresses of officials and I am making a plead to you all, my relatives, to sign it and either send it directly to the listed officials or send them to the Black Mesa Indigenous Support. This situation is very urgent. These elders are very old now and they truly deserve much honor. They have lived in a way that, we or our future generations may never see humans live in this country. These traditional elders must live their naturally-given, old life in peace and harmony, Hozhon goh. Yaa'at'eeh goh.

I apologize for the long list of officials, but it has become long because of so many years of ignorance and because certain, minor sectors of society believed that these Elders would have been defeated already.

REPEAL “THE NAVAJO-HOPI LAND SETTLEMENT ACT OF 1974” (P.L. 93-531): IT ENFORCES THE METHODS OF GENOCIDE BY POPULATION REMOVAL AND COAL MINING EXPANSIONS
The Sovereign Nation of the Big Mountain Dineh is located in northeastern Arizona on Black Mesa and is part of ancient indigenous shared-territories. Members of this nation were affected by the 1974 legislation to relocate from certain partitioned areas, but have rather chose to resist this policy and try to: maintain their ancestral and treaty lands, keep cultural practices, value universal-granted freedom, conduct their ancient rights to ritual ceremonies, and preserve their sacred sites. The proclamation of these Dineh in 1979 states that through divine creation they were, “provided with the Ni’tliz’ (sacred stones) as offerings and the Dzil leezh (sacred mountain soil Bundle) representing the universe. With prayers and songs we offer the Ni’tliz to the trees, to the hills, to the wind, and the thunder beings in the sacred rain. The Dzil Leezh is our power to live close to our mother the Earth and father Sky. These are our sacred ways to survive in this universe and to communicate with the unseen forces in the Natural life.”
As you may be aware that, the relocation of thousands of Dineh (Navajos) and Hopis has been in process since 1977 after 1.8 million acres was partitioned and that, the Dineh elder leaders at Big Mountain began their resistance to U.S. government court orders to vacant areas partitioned to the official and federally-recognized, Hopi tribe. These traditional Dineh communities still
continue to resist the harsh relocation policies and coal mining encroachment to this day. Despite a few elders are now left, they continue to reaffirm their ancestral land rights which are contrary to all court decisions related to the fore mentioned communities from 1974 to 1998.
U.S. Judicial System has had a vital role in this land rights issue ever since energy companies of the southwestern United States became interested in exploring the coal reserves of Black Mesa in northeastern Arizona. In 1962, there was a well-orchestrated rush to establish an Indian Land Claims on the behalf of the Hopi tribe and which was guided by a Peabody Coal Company attorney, and this allowed Peabody to acquire mining leases. The U.S. courts and corporate attorneys eventually, thereafter, help created the relocation and land-partitioning policies which only made way for coal exploration. None of these court rulings were based on proving that an actual “land dispute” did exist between the Dineh and Hopis.
Big Mountain on Black Mesa is the only place in the United States where two Indian nations can still define cultural coexistence and shared territories, and now have become endangered aboriginal peoples. The U.S. courts have ordered continued pressure on the remaining traditional Dineh and keep the areas sealed and isolated. The United States is allowing this tragedy and genocide to be sustained under the guise that relocation are on voluntary basis and that Indian police are being used rather than state authorities to carry out enforcements. These traditional resisters hold great knowledge and wisdom of ancient information and natural existence that are irreplaceable, and it is the world society’s responsibility to stop the United States and its largest coal-producer, Peabody Energy, from executing this human and mega-environmental destruction.
Additional documentations (www.blackmesais.org) of human rights violation and religious intolerance are as follows:
 Limitation or complete denial of: crop cultivation and livestock husbandry, community and religious activities, access to or maintenance of water wells, and elder residents’ safety needs to attain wood fuels for heating and cooking,
 Forced relocation to foreign settings that does not support or replace loss culture and religions,
 Deliberate breaking up of family and clan structures,
 Controlled national media that portray the Big Mountain story as a result of legitimate and humane court decisions,
 Peabody mines create: daily detonation that causes micro-quakes, depletion of pristine aquifers that causes subsidence and fissure zones, and massive emissions of coal dust and engine exhaust.
We the undersigned hereof state our demand that the United States cease all forcible relocation enforcements on the Dineh, and reverse the decisions made for Peabody Coal Company’s Life of the Mine Permit on Black Mesa.
It will be furthered recommended that:
 Indigenous peoples’ inherent rights to their homelands be recognized and respected,
 Traditional tribal communities be allowed to reinstate and restore the inexorable ties to fundamental existence and spiritual practices,
 There must be serious reviews about the conclusion that Black Mesa coal is the primary source for energy, and that being reviewed in the context of global concerns for greenhouse gas emissions,
 Acknowledge that indigenous being has sustained all human cultures’ moral obligations throughout the ages, and it is much more crucial in this technological era that the demands and rights of indigenous peoples be received with greater human understanding.

Our children are dying. Our children are killing themselves in record numbers on our Lakota Reservations. They are filled with despair, confusion, and hopelessness and they see suicide as the only answer.
Many studies point to the hopelessness as being a result of generations of genocide committed by the historical policies of the Federal Government against the American Indians. But the policies of today are just as damaging. These policies create a system of “assimilate or die,” just another form of genocide.

I am not racist. This is not about hatred or racism. There are many good non-Lakota. But the damage from the Government and the mainstream culture and its almighty dollar is killing the children of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota Nations. To look for solutions from the mainstream culture will only bring about more confusion, more genocide, and more destruction of our culture and our people.

Yes, our children need help. Then, they also need jobs. They need work. They need to have hope that they can survive. They need to be treated like real citizens, free to be who they are.

The current programs are not working. Our Reservations are dry but 60-70% of our people are still affected by alcoholism and drug addictions. There are a few non-profit organizations that do good work on our reservations. They really do try to help. But there are also many, many groups who only make money in our name. We’re a commodity to them, a way to get more and more money for themselves, while our children are suffering. It’s the same with some of the Tribal Council and Government programs. The money never reaches the people, it never really helps anyone.

Our children are living in a world of confusion and chaos. We need all the help we can get from our own people within our own culture. Gangs and cults and programs that are ignorant of the Lakota culture are not the answer. The Lakota child knows they are Lakota but these other things only work to destroy that identity. They brainwash our children into trying to assimilate rather than respecting and understanding themselves. They contaminate our children with false mainstream ideas and values which then only creates more desperation.
We could cure our own. We need to cure our own.

In my grandfather’s time, suicide was unknown. But today, it is everywhere. Our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews are crying for our help. They are dying without our help.

Traditional spirituality could make the difference. But the civilized world and Christianity have tied our hands. Our medicine men, our medicine women, and our spiritual leaders have no standing. We are not even consulted.

Yet, Traditional spirituality could make the real difference.

Traditional sweatlodge ceremonies could help purify the mind of these children who have been so wounded by society. It can wake up the spirit that is inside the person. It can bring healing of the mind, body, and spirit and it could help heal the entire family. But it needs to be the real thing, led by a legitimate traditional spiritual leader, and not just some sauna with a few nice words.

Learning to prepare foods in the traditional way could help them, too. It is important they understand that food prepared in a good way nourishes the family in a good way. They need to know that food prepared with anger and hatred only brings sickness with it.

There are many of the Traditional Ways which would work to bring about healing and hope for these children. It can restore their identity and become a way of life. It can teach them how to live a good life, in a good way. It can give them direction and understanding.

But we need to stop fighting among ourselves. We need to stop looking to the mainstream society for solutions. We need to stop looking to outsiders for cures. We need to look to the Ways of our ancestors to guide us. We, the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota People need to help our own grandchildren.

I am not asking for money. I am not asking for anything from the Government or the BIA except that we be set free. Set us free. Don’t try to force us to live in the mainstream ways. Don’t try to force us to assimilate. Let us live in our own Ways and heal ourselves and our children and grandchildren.

Dineh People in Arizona Undermined by Coal Mining Interests

REGION:

Black Mesa is located in northeastern Arizona and includes the Dineh (Navajo) and Hopi Reservations. The region spans 3,000 sq miles and has a population of 3,000 indigenous people.

CASE STUDY PREPARED BY: The goal of the Sovereign Dineh Nation (SDN) is to ensure that the traditional Dineh are honored, respected and protected, and that they are able to remain on their land and continue their traditional way of life. SDN was founded ten years ago by a Council of Elders, with Roberta Blackgoat, an elder matriarch, the spiritual leader and chairperson of the organization. A SDN New York Support Group was created to interface and advocate for them with various agencies and NGOs. This group identifies institutional frameworks that can be used to combat industrial practices that constitute violations of the Surface Mining Coal Reclamation Act (SMCRA). It helps to facilitate the filing of formal complaints to the UN Commission on Human Rights and other UN forums

The Black Mesa region in Arizona, USA is home to the indigenous communities of the Dineh (Navajo) and Hopi peoples. This region also contains major deposits of coal which are being extracted by North America's largest strip mining operation. The coal mines have had a major impact on families in the region. Local water sources have been poisoned, resulting in the death of livestock. Homes near the mines suffer from blasting damage. The coal dust is pervasive, as well as smoke from frequent fires in the stockpiles. Not coincidentally, the people in the area have an unusually high incidence of kidney and respiratory disease.

The Dineh (otherwise known as Navajo) were stripped of all land title and forced to relocate. Their land was turned over to the coal companies without making any provisions to protect the burial or sacred sites that would be destroyed by the mines. People whose lives were based in their deep spiritual and life-giving relationship with the land were relocated into cities, often without compensation, forbidden to return to the land that their families had occupied for generations. People became homeless with significant increases in alcoholism, suicide, family break up, emotional abuse and death.

Cause of the Environmental Crisis

In the 1930's, the U.S. government tried to replace the traditional governing mechanisms on the reservations with Western-style governments, but these institutions quickly collapsed from lack of support by the inhabitants. In the 1950s, vast coal deposits were discovered in Black Mesa.

Here's where John McCain comes into the picture

Because no government existed with the power to issue leases to the mining companies, white attorneys with strong ties to the mining industry used legal provisions dating back to the 1930's to create new tribal governments. The people on the Hopi reservation did not recognize the validity of the government or of the coal leases, and filed a suit in the U.S. courts to overthrow the leases, on the grounds that coal mining violated the Hopi religion. U.S. courts dismissed the suit, stating that the industry-created tribal council was a sovereign power, and the Hopi people could not use the U.S. courts to appeal its actions.

In 1974, the mining industry played a major role in passage of the Navajo-Hopi Settlement Act of 1974. McCain got paid to legislate for this by the Peabody Coal Company, the largest mining company in the US. He also holds stock in the venture in his wife's name it has been told around Arizona. Cindy also has a solo contract in the beer distribution in the area she aquired from this bill.

McCain's genocide:

This crucial piece of legislation resulted in the largest relocation of Native American people since the 1860's. The relocation effort has been a disaster. More than 12,000 people have been relocated over the past 22 years. Some were sent to cities where, unable to speak English or relate to a non-traditional economy, they quickly lost the small sums of money they were given at the time of the relocation. The rest were sent to the "New Lands", an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund site contaminated by the nation's worst nuclear spill. But many families resisted orders to relocate, and 23 years later, several thousand still remain on their traditional homesites. This relocation has cost the U.S. taxpayers over $350 million.

The people affected by the legislation were never directly informed of its adoption, never allowed to testify in any Congressional hearing and never allowed to be represented in any way through the process. All the decisions that led to partition of their land were carried out and enacted by newly created male-dominated tribal councils located 100 miles away from the directly affected people.

With assistance from the U.S. government, the mining industry has supported a new faction on the reservations consisting of businessmen who profit from mining, large-scale cattle ranching, and other non-traditional economic activities. This faction controls the tribal governments and rejects traditional religious views about the sacredness of the land.
It views the traditional Dineh living on the land as obstacles to the success of its business ventures. This faction is considered to be the sole legitimate voice of all the people and has been granted sovereign powers which deprive the people of fundamental civil rights.

Impact Of the Environmental Crisis

The mines threaten the sole source of water for the communities in the region. Ancient natural springs, washes and wells in the region are contaminated and have run dry, others have only a few years left. Mine soils, spoil and coal stockpiles are affecting surface water used for human consumption, as well as worsening potential plant and soil toxicity due to fugitive dust and airborne particulate from the stockpiles. The coal from the Black Mesa mine is transported to the Mojave Power plant through a slurry line that requires pumping 3 million gallons of water each day from the Navajo aquifer. The slurry line operates without any permit from the EPA. In a region where water is extremely scarce, the use of such a precious resource just to transport coal is a tragic waste.

Coal strip mining and the burning of fossil fuels is one of the most unsustainable ways of land and resource management. The operations of Peabody Coal have destroyed countless sites that are sacred to the Dineh. Stripping the land years in advance of the planned mining operations has degraded the biota and caused displacement of the Dineh people, causing disruptions to their family life and health. Local residents living in the mining permit area have been told that they and the livestock upon which they are dependent for their survival can no longer drink from traditional water sources. Environmental degradation continues as multi-colored toxics seep onto their land. Some herbs used in traditional medicine were only available at places that have been destroyed by mining, rendering the herbs now unavailable. Since traditional medicine is closely interlinked with religion, this interferes with religious practice. Contaminated surface water discharge and elevated levels of selenium is causing livestock poisoning in the adjacent leaseholds. This has also threatened the livestock used for human consumption.

Unlined coal stockpiles and fugitive dust blown from mining and reclamation activities have increased the incidence of respiratory illnesses. Coal-fired power plants in the region generate over 10% of the nation's electricity, and are the largest point-source of greenhouse gasses in a country that leads the world in their production. The plants (exempt from all environmental laws by grandfather clauses dating back to the 1960s) operate without scrubbers or other emission controls and emit 350 tons of sulfur compounds and 250 tons of nitrogen compounds into the atmosphere each day. The incredible volume of these pollutants reduces visibility in an area of thousands of square miles, including a 50% reduction of visibility in the Grand Canyon in the last 15 years, and causes desertification, and acidification of rain and surface water in the region. The Mohave Generating Station burning Peabody Coal Company's Black Mesa coal stands out as one of the worst offenders because of its large scale, lack of pollution controls, and excessive emissions due to burning of moistured coal.
The current laws deny the Dineh families who remain on their land a fundamental constitutional right enjoyed by other citizens of the U.S. They are not allowed to vote or in any way to participate in the government which controls their lives. They are not allowed to participate in the legal system other than as defendants. They have no right to appeal any police or government action. Mining company security personnel, harass and intimidate elders, threatening them with imprisonment if they try to protect their homes, property and burial sites from Peabody Coal's bulldozers. They can be arbitrarily thrown in jail for resisting actions by the mining company. People and their livestock are given trespass notices. Ceremonial hogans, houses, sacred sites and graveyards are bulldozed. Armed rangers visit elders at their homes and threaten and harass them and confiscate their livestock at the government's discretion. They are denied access to water, their water wells are fenced, capped off and dismantled.

The struggle in Black Mesa is between two divergent viewpoints on the relationship between humans and their environment. One group, led by male-dominated mining corporations and tribal councils, views land as property that title-holders should exploit for the maximum profits regardless of the impact on the land or on people who currently inhabit the land. The other group, whose leaders are grandmothers in the matriarchal traditional Dineh culture, believe that the land is sacred and should not be violated by a strip mine. They believe that they must remain upon their lands, where their families have lived for countless generations and protect it from destruction.

The Dineh grandmothers represent a different set of values. The earth is a mother who gives life and must be respected and protected in turn. And while they want to be able to continue their traditional way of life they are also open to exploring other sustainable technologies, such as solar energy or alternative organic agricultural methods.

The grandmothers and other indigenous people in the area need a mechanism to participate in the policies affecting their community that is independent of the completely male-dominated, industry-established tribal governments. The coal strip mines do not represent a permanent solution to the economic problems of the Dineh and Hopi tribes. The coal-fired power plants in the Four Corners region are the largest single point source of greenhouse gases in North America. The enterprise for which the fundamental human rights of the Dineh families are being sacrificed is but a doomed scheme to make quick money.

The UN Conference on Environment and Development recognized in Agenda 21 that "women have an essential role to play in the development of sustainable and ecologically sound consumption and production patterns and approaches to natural resource management." It is essential to recognize the value of the Dineh grandmothers and the sacrifices that they have made to protect their land from destruction.

Women in Dineh society play the pivotal role, culturally and religiously. It is women's primal role as protectors of the land that is traditionally responsible for their religion, government and economy. Women were mainly responsible for income produced through sheep herding and weaving. In contrast, the impact of mining has created a transition to a male-dominated set of institutions in society. Jobs that have arisen from the mining industry all go to men. The traditional self-sufficient economy has been undermined by coal mining jobs that have created a new society run by men. Royalties generated from coal mining go to male-controlled tribal councils, both Hopi and Dineh, and women have never been chiefs of either executive institution. Women who have historically been protectors of the earth now face male-dominated institutions that view the earth as a resource.

My Rant:
If someone or some company came onto your land and did the crimes that have been done to these gentle people who were happy to be left alone to live their lives the way they had for generations. You would be pulling out the guns and war would insue!
Did you know anywhere downwind from the mines is effected by the pollution, including the ground water, they have polluted the water table with the dirty waste. Go have a good hot cup of coffee tainted with mercury, oh yum! John McCain and his buddies from the Peabody coal company slid a fast one on a race of people who couldn't legally fight back because of the way the courts left the decision, sending 12,000 people; some to their deaths. The place's they sent them filled them with lung disease's, kidney disease's, Cancer, birth defects in large number's, suicide's, hopeless home situation's too hard to bear! This Tribial Council of men who signed the papers lived 100 miles away. And if they had known what this group of criminals were up to, this would never have happened!
These people have no representation in the US courts, cannot even vote! And people put them down because they sell cigarettes!
I think that John McCain should right his wrong by going before the courts and fight to retract the decision for these people's that his greed took away He's gotten the government and the media to hush hush up the controversy surrounding the Keaton 5. And he also has the Navajo/Peabody issue hidden.

What a bastard! I have really been investigating McCain and he is a terrible excuse for a human being! He is not native to Arizona, he came here because he seen an opportunity to get elected OH! That's right, you won't do it because if the bill pass's for nuclear power, you already have plans to put 3, that's three nuclear plant's out there on the Rez. HUH!? What a greedy Jackass!

Now have a desire for the coal, uranium, and to crowd them yet again on their land. What happens here stays here!
If you are entering Indian country do you leave your rights behind?

The answer is YES!

You May or may not be aware that each time you cross from Pechanga Parkway onto the Casino you are essentially leaving US governed territories. Or for that matter, any Native Reservation. Oh you didn't know! Well you should, and moreover you should be able to read what rights you are losing before you make that decision.

When you cross the border anywhere from the US there is a large sign telling you clearly that you are now crossing into another country and you are essentially governed by a different set of laws. When you step onto Casino property you are also leaving the US and you should read the following stories which may make you think twice before you do it again.

My rant: The same NA'S in control of the casino's are slowly ripping their own tribe apart! Native American's can be brutal even to each other, so when you cross that line, be careful. If they ask you to leave and point to a door, take that door..If you have belongings in a room, tell them and they will go get them for you. Just stay outside and wait. As for the cops, only the Native American cops have juristion and the FBI.
The Native's carry alot of rage for all the injustice's that have happened to their Elder's and all the way from the 1700's to today. When you look at any given race, they stand out at maybe second from the top of being the most whipped.

News broke last week that Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, lived rent- free for years in the home of Rep. Rosa De Lauro (D-Conn.) - and failed to disclose the gift, as congressional ethics rules mandate. But this is only the tip of Emanuel's previously undisclosed ethics problems.

One issue is the work Emanuel tossed the way of De Lauro's husband. But the bigger one goes back to Emanuel's days on the board of now-bankrupt mortgage giant Freddie Mac.

Emanuel is a multimillionaire, but lived for the last five years for free in the tony Capitol Hill townhouse owned by De Lauro and her husband, Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg.

During that time, he also served as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - which gave Greenberg huge polling contracts. It paid Greenberg's firm $239,996 in 2006 and $317,775 in 2008. (Emanuel's own campaign committee has also paid Greenberg more than $50,000 since 2004.)

To be fair, Greenberg had polling contracts with the DCCC before - but each new election cycle brings its own set of consultants. And Emanuel was certainly generous with his roommate.

Emanuel never declared the substantial gift of free rent on any of his financial-disclosure forms. He and De Lauro claim that it was just allowable "hospitality" between colleagues. Hospitality - for five years?

Some experts suggest that it was also taxable income: Over five years, the free rent could easily add up to more than $100,000.

Nor is this all that seems to have been missed in the Obama team's vetting process. Consider: Emanuel served on the Freddie Mac board of directors during the time that the government-backed lender lied about its earnings, a leading contributor to the current economic meltdown.

The Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Agency later singled out the Freddie Mac board as contributing to the fraud in 2000 and 2001 for "failing in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention." In other words, board members ignored the red flags waving in their faces.

The SEC later fined Freddie $50 million for its deliberate fraud in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Meanwhile, Emanuel was paid more than $260,000 for his Freddie "service." Plus, after he resigned from the board to run for Congress in 2002, the troubled agency's PAC gave his campaign $25,000 - its largest single gift to a House candidate.

That's what friends are for, isn't it?

Now Rahm Emanuel is in the White House helping President Obama dig out of the mess that Freddie Mac helped start.

The president's chief of staff isn't subject to Senate confirmation, but his ethics still matter. Is this the change that we can depend on?

My thoughts: Just how in the hell do I get this kind of position? Who do I have to lay with to get this rich? And lastly but most important, was it really worth it to have a reputation of a crook and in general sleezebag?
This is more than likely the reason he wants to take away our gun rights too, so he doesn't get shot for being such a lowdown crook!

This man was elected to such an important position in congress, along with Pelosi they are like a train wreck. When they jumped on the Stimulas Package it was like children in a candy store. I can just see them in that closed room with locked doors so the Republican's couldn't get in and have any. Hide your guns!

Gun ownership rights are under 'stealth' attack. While Congress and the public have been obsessed with the 'Spendulus Bill', three things have occurred that should make every gun owner fearful. The items are H.R. 45 introduction, confirmation of Eric Holder as Attorney General and the government medical records data base that is mandated in the stimulus bill. Let me explain.

First, H.R. 45 was filed in the House of Representatives by Rep Rush, Bobby L.[IL] on January 6, 2009. This bill will impose severe restrictions for licensing on gun ownership. This anti gun bill requires that all new guns be licensed. The bill goes retroactive after two years. What this means is that two years after the passage of this bill, all firearms in your possession must be registered. This will not just apply to new gun purchases.

Second, Eric holder was confirmed as Attorney General. Eric Holder has a very anti gun record. He supported the District of Columbia’s handgun ban and has argued the second amendment to the Constitution does not protect an individual's right to firearm ownership. Also, Eric Holder has supported national handgun licensing and mandatory trigger locks.

Third, sections 13101 through 13434 of HR 1

will set up the infrastructure to computerize the medical records of all Americans in a government-coordinated database. This database will contain all records of medical and psychiatric treatment. This will include what drugs you have been prescribed. Why is this worrisome? Under the NICS Improvement Act, 150,000 veterans have already been unfairly stripped of their gun rights by the government. These rights were removed without a court hearing. Now, we will all be susceptible to this tactic.

WINDOW ROCK — Navajo Nation Vice President Ben Shelly is in Paris this week to look at renewable energy and the recycling of nuclear fuel.

Sherrick Roanhorse of the Vice President’s Office said Shelly is one of nine tribal leaders invited by the International Institute for Indigenous Resource Management in Denver. “The trip is purely educational. It’s to educate tribal leaders about energy policy, energy technology, and it’s to make the tribal leaders aware of energy projects.

“The United States currently does not recycle spent fuel rods by the United States’ 104 reactors,” Roanhorse said.

According to its Web site, the Institute and Areva — the world leader in nuclear power — organized a series of site visits to Areva energy facilities in France for a tribal delegation from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Osage Nation, and Navajo Nation.

Also in the delegation are representatives of the Council of Energy Resource Tribes and Sinte Gleska University in Mission, S.D. The site visits are intended to further inform tribal leadership on the wide range of energy and sustainable development issues that already are the focus of national and international energy and climate policies and programs, the announcement states.

Areva has manufacturing facilities in 43 countries and a sales network in more than 100. The nuclear giant has a front-end division that deals with uranium ore exploration, mining, concentration, conversion and enrichment, nuclear fuel design and fabrication.

The company also designs and constructs nuclear reactors, while its back-end division specializes in the treatment and recycling of used fuel and cleanup of nuclear facilities. It also has a transmission and distribution division that provides systems and services designed to transport and distribute electricity from the power plant to the final user.

The Arizona Legislature is considering House Bill 2623, to add a renewable energy standard. Under the bill, nuclear energy would be considered renewable energy. The “Renewable Energy Policy” would include tax credits and incentives relating to the production and distribution of solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, nuclear, hydro generation, agricultural waste and landfill gas power.

Resources Committee Chairman George Arthur, who was unaware of the vice president’s trip or that it was being paid for out of the division’s budget, said, “That’s interesting, because I’m getting my education right here on Navajo with people that are party to some of these discussions and I don’t have to travel very far to get good information on renewable energy like wind power and solar energy. It’s just next door to us.

“As far as nuclear interest is concerned, I’m kind of puzzled that one particular leadership should be having to travel abroad to expand on the industry or to be educated in respect to nuclear development when that in itself has been very devastating to our own Navajo people. I, for one, took the initiative to put forth a legislation that I assume the Navajo Nation leadership upholds and will uphold in respect to the banning of nuclear development, either mining or processing activities.”

Budget and Finance Committee Chairman LoRenzo Bates also said that the Navajo Nation has spoken on the uranium issue “and before any possibility of that being considered, it most definitely has to be brought back to the Nation for consideration. But given the lack of any further revenue outside of the casinos, outside of Desert Rock that has yet to become a reality, a president may end up looking at some sort of involvement with uranium.

“But up until then, that president cannot be beating around the bush. A president has to come out and let the people know that this is what’s being considered. This back-room tactics doesn’t cut it with the Navajo people. At some point there will be a president that’s going to have to deal with the matter.”

Roanhorse said the trip was just a fact-finding trip.

“Renewables is one answer. It’s not the whole answer, but it’s one answer to economic development,” Roanhorse said. “What’s driving our whole energy policy is just to try to develop what we have, as well as bring more jobs to our people, and we’re looking at different avenues.

“But we’re not building a nuclear plant. We’re not discussing it, we’re not thinking about it, and it’s not on our agenda because the Navajo Nation Council and the Navajo Nation as a whole oppose uranium mining and milling. It’s the law of the land. We follow that.”

When asked whether the Nation was looking at selling uranium to a foreign entity, Roanhorse said, “I can’t answer that. There’s no talks of uranium mining or anything of that nature. It’s too premature to talk about uranium mining or future nuclear facilities.” He said the group is looking at biomass — the burning of wood fuels — and wind energy, and that the vice president did tour a nuclear recycling fuel site.

Why does McCain think that the best place to do his dumping is on Native land? His projects have destroyed so much of the land, and the people are herded all over the Rez, some have been herded into living across the street from where a waste dump is still so hot that the children and eldery are sick from it. Sen. John Thune [R-SD]: Mr. President, as many of my colleagues have already noted, the jobs numbers today were very bleak and should cause great concern for all of us as we look at steps we can take to get this economy growing again. But that is why the CBO report that came out yesterday also is so troubling because it indicated the Democratic proposal, the stimulus plan before us, would create as few as 1.3 million jobs--as many as 3.9 million, to be fair, but as few as 1.3 million jobs. Well, a trillion dollars is a terrible price to pay for a bill that may create as few as 1.3 million jobs over, I might add, a 2-year period.

It also went on to say, the CBO report did, that it would reduce the GDP growth in the outyears. So not only does it create potentially a very small amount of jobs--1.3 million over a 2-year period--but it also diminishes the amount of GDP growth we would experience in later years.

Now, if it, in fact, does create only 1.3 million jobs, if this trillion dollar plan--again, all based on borrowing from future generations--does create as few as 1.3 million jobs, if you do the arithmetic on that, if you spend $1 trillion, and you only create a little over a million jobs, that is $800,000 per job. Try and think about how you can convince your constituents back in your home States about the need to spend $800,000 to create a single job.

I mentioned this yesterday, but I will repeat it again: For the people in my State of South Dakota, the average annual salary is about $30,000 per year. So to think about spending $800,000 to create a job is something that is going to be very hard to accept for a lot of people around this country, which is why I believe, and so many people around the country are rallying and saying, this is the wrong direction in which to head.

I happen to agree with that assessment, and I think there are some things that could be done that would make this process more fair in terms of including ideas that Republicans have to put forward but, more importantly, to get a product that is more effective--more effective--at creating jobs at a lower cost.

Now, many of us have tried to improve this bill. I supported a McCain amendment yesterday, a comprehensive approach that is much better in terms of addressing the issue and much better focused in terms of job creation at about half the cost of the underlying bill, the majority bill we are debating today. So we tried to make this bill more focused and more fiscally responsible. I think putting the focus and the emphasis on job creation is the right place to be. But many of the efforts we have made to that end have failed. We have also offered amendments to cut much of the wasteful spending out of this bill, most of which have been defeated.

So what I have sort of concluded is, as much as we tried to make this a better bill by cutting wasteful spending, by making the focus on job creation, by trying to reduce taxes on small businesses and middle-income taxpayers, which would get more money back into the economy, and emphasize less spending on Government programs in Washington, DC, where the bulk of this is committed, that is a much better approach, and many of our amendments have been focused in that direction. But, as I said, none have been accepted.

I have one more amendment I have filed and I hope to have an opportunity to call up. It is sort of a last-ditch effort to bring some reason to this whole debate. But what it essentially would do is take the total cost of the Democratic bill--about $900 billion without interest; $900 billion, when you add in the interest costs, as I said before, you get up to about $1.2 trillion or north of that, all of which is borrowed money, borrowed from future generations--but take that total amount of $900 billion and divide it by every tax filer in this country--anybody who files an income tax in this country--and basically write them a check.

Now, it is probably surprising to most of us here what you could do with that. But for an average individual filing a tax return in this country, you could write them a check for $5,143; for a couple filing jointly, $10,286.

Now, to be fair, I also wrote the amendment so anybody making more than $250,000 a year would not be eligible. I tried to make this so you cannot argue this is a tax cut for the rich. So anybody who makes more than $250,000 would not be eligible. All filers who have under $250,000 in taxable income would be eligible under this amendment. You could actually write a check to an individual filing for $5,143 dollars; and to a couple filing jointly, a check for $10,286.

I think that is a lot of money in most people's family incomes and it makes a lot more sense, in my judgment, than spending $900 billion on programs that many of us know will not work, creating new bureaucracies in Washington, DC, at a very high cost per job. As I said, if the CBO numbers are right on the low end--1.3 million new jobs--and you divide that, do the arithmetic on that, you are talking, in round numbers, about $800,000 per job. What kind of sense does that make?

It is pretty clear, in my opinion, and I think in the opinion of most of the American people, this is very misdirected in terms of the mission of this whole thing. The intention is great, but the substance of this particular piece of legislation is very flawed.

I would add one last thing; that is, we talk about economic models and analysis and methodology, but the President's own chief economic adviser put together a methodology about a year ago--a little over a year ago--that said for every dollar of tax cuts you get a multiplier of 2.2 percent increase in GDP. So if you cut taxes by a dollar, GDP increases by 2.2 times.

It seems to me, at least, that you can take that methodology--and it seems intuitive to most Americans--when you reduce their taxes, middle-income families' taxes and taxes on small businesses, which create the jobs in this country, you get a much better outcome in terms of GDP growth, in job creation, than sending a bunch of money into Government programs here in Washington, DC, many of which, I might add, are new programs that will not get up and be started for a very long time. There will be a tail on them. As a consequence, you will not see the result in the short period of time we are trying to target here--the temporary approach to this--that actually creates jobs and helps pull us out of the economic crisis we are in.

That is an amendment I have filed. It takes that total amount--$900 billion--breaks it down on a per-filer basis, and if you are an individual filing, you can get a check for $5,143, and if you are a couple filing jointly, you can get a check for $10,286.

But I wish to see us approach this in a different way. A lot of amendments, as I said, have been offered--some good alternatives. The McCain alternative we voted on yesterday makes a lot of sense to me. It does it at about half the cost, and is a lot more effective at creating jobs. That was defeated, as have been all the other amendments we have offered to make this more fiscally responsible, more focused, and more targeted on job creation.

A look into the halls of the Senate AZ Senators have the floor on the stimulis contents

Chair: The Senator from Arizona.

Sen. John McCain [R-AZ]: Mr. President, for the benefit of my colleagues, on this side we have Senators THUNE, GRAHAM, SESSIONS, COBURN, and ALEXANDER waiting to speak. I would imagine that, given that, between now and 11:30, hopefully, we could get most of those in between now and the time for voting, of course observing the protocol of those being recognized on the other side of the aisle.

While we are here in the Chamber discussing this issue, we all know discussions are being held behind closed doors between two or three or four Republicans in order to try to get 60 votes in order to pass this legislation. Obviously, the overwhelming majority of Republican Senators are opposed to the legislation. That same overwhelming majority of Senators are in favor of stimulating our economy and creating jobs.

How did we get here, and where do we go? We got here by the Speaker of the House saying: We won, so we wrote the bill. In the years I have been here, that is not called bipartisanship. Without the votes of 11 Democrats and without the vote of a single Republican, the bill emerged from the other body and came over here. Again, through the Appropriations and Finance Committees, the bill was written without significant input or with negligible input from Senators on this side of the aisle. There is an old saying: If you are not in on the takeoff, you will not be in on the landing.

We are up to approximately $1.2 trillion in the piece of legislation in front of us. The Congressional Budget Office yesterday said that this legislation would increase employment by the end of the fourth quarter of 2010 by 1.3 million to 3.9 million jobs. I did the math. So $1.2 trillion, 3 million jobs, is $923,997 for each job. For 1.3 million jobs, which is the low end determined by the Congressional Budget Office, it is only $307,092 per job.

The American people are figuring out that this is not a stimulus bill. It is a spending bill full of unnecessary spending, unexamined policy changes or policy changes that have been examined and rejected in the past, and, of course, tax cuts which do not stimulate the economy.

I ask to have printed in the Record examples of the House spending provisions and the Senate spending provisions which I find not only questionable but obviously, in the view of any objective observer, unnecessary, unwanted, and, indeed, wasteful.

Sen. John McCain [R-AZ]: The distinguished majority leader mentioned that economists like Marty Feldstein said we need a stimulus. He certainly did. He later said this was not the stimulus we need. There are a large number of economists saying that what we are doing is what I know we are doing, and that is to lay an unacceptable multitrillion-dollar debt on future generations. If the purpose of this legislation is to create jobs and get the economy going, why did we reject the trigger amendment yesterday which got 44 votes which said: Once we have two quarters of positive GDP growth, we are required to embark on spending cuts to stop mortgaging our children's futures.

If we keep running up these debts, history shows that we will have debased the currency, printed more money. Hyperinflation takes place, which is, obviously, the greatest enemy of the middle class.

There are provisions such as the "Buy American" provision, Davis-Bacon, a number of other provisions in the bill which have nothing to do with jobs, nothing to do with stimulating the economy. In fact, Davis-Bacon and "Buy American" mean additional costs to the taxpayer.

The President, last night, speaking to the Democrats, said:

So then you get the argument this is not a stimulus bill. This is a spending bill. What do you think a stimulus is? That's the whole point.

The whole point is to enact tax cuts and spending measures that truly stimulate the economy. There are billions and tens of billions of dollars in this bill which will have no effect within 3, 4, 5 or more years, or ever. We are talking about a lot of money.

I used to come to the floor and object to provisions that were thousands of dollars, then hundreds of thousands of dollars, then millions--$50 million in funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. All of us are for the arts. Tell me how that creates any significant number of jobs. An afterschool snack program is probably a good idea. Do we really want to spend $726 million on it?

Here we are. My other colleagues want to speak, and so I will be speaking later on. It is important that others do as well. But here we are. We are in a situation where the overwhelming majority of Republicans--in fact, all--voted for both the trigger amendment and for our alternative, which was $421 billion in spending. There are behind-the-scenes negotiations going on so that they can try to pick off two or three Republicans. You cannot call a bill bipartisan if it has two or three or four or even five Republicans out of 535 Members of Congress. You can call it an agreement, but you cannot call it a bipartisan agreement. That is not what the American people want today. Yes, unemployment is up to 7.6 percent. The American people expect us to sit down together.

I see the distinguished chairman of the Budget Committee, the Senator from North Dakota. He probably knows as much about budget issues and spending as anybody. My recommendation is that he and others be appointed by both leaders to sit down in a room so that we can come out with a bipartisan agreement. That means leadership. That means involvement, not just of a couple or three who may be in some respects not reflective of the whole 41 Republican Members of the Senate.

Maybe we have to go back to square one. Maybe we should go back to the beginning because it was flawed when it began, when the authors of this legislation from the House said: We won, so we wrote the bill. That is not bipartisanship.

I urge both Senator McConnell and Senator Reid to appoint a group of Senators to sit down together and hash this out. We share the same goal, the same goal of stimulating this economy and creating jobs. We realize we have to spend money to do it. But we also realize--most of us should realize--that if we mortgage our children's future, they already have a $10 trillion debt; this is another trillion. There is going to be an Omnibus appropriations bill coming down the pike. There is going to have to be a TARP 3. We are looking at spending as far as we can see for which we do not have revenues.

We can have a modest--I say modest, I take that back. We can have a bill that is $400 or $500 billion. We can have a bill that truly stimulates this economy, with tax cuts that, in the view of economists, do create jobs, not a one-time injection of sending people a check. That didn't work the last time we did it under the previous administration.

I urge colleagues not to send a message to the American people that we have come out with a bill with 3 or 4 Republicans out of 535 Members of Congress. Let's try to sit down one more time, all of us, and come out with something that truly creates jobs, truly stimulates the economy, and restores the faith and confidence and trust of the American people in the Congress, which has badly eroded and is at historic lows. These are tough times. Let's act tough for a change and get something done, rather than have some partisan result which the American people--certainly a significant percentage--will resoundingly reject because it does not have fiscal responsibility.

Despite the fact a judicial and legal process is under way in Minnesota to determine who actually won the U.S. Senate seat, the Democrats are brazenly trying to bully and disrupt their way in a shocking attempt to seat Al Franken in the senate.

Just this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid arrogantly asserted he will seat liberal hate comedian Al Franken in the US Senate no matter what.
Reid stated: "We're going to try to seat Al Franken. There's not a question in anyone's mind, an assertion by anyone, that there's been any fraud or wrong doing in this election."

How about starting with Minnesota law which clearly indicates Al Franken is not the U.S. Senator?In fact, the election contest is still under way. Recently, the election process moved before a three judge panel to determine if Al Franken actually leads -- after almost two months of Democratic funny business during the recount.

Remember, on election night Republican Senator Norm Coleman actually led Al Franken by 725 votes.

Then, Franken raced to his liberal friends in Hollywood and New York, getting millions from the likes of billionaire George Soros. Franken and his gang used this money to wage a fierce legal fight to steal the election from Senator Norm Coleman.

Media Hiding Truth About Franken Election Theft
It's a disgrace what has been done. It is an outrage the media have simply not reported this story.

Let's review some key facts Harry Reid, Al Franken and the liberal media don't want you to know:

Every major Minnesota newspaper has agreed that the election is not over until the Election Contest is over. The state's largest newspaper, the Minneapolis Star Tribune ,stated: "Coleman is justified in going to court. . . . Both Franken and Coleman should want court-ordered answers to questions that the Canvassing Board could not answer."

In its initial review of a few issues in front of the Canvassing Board, The Minnesota Supreme Court specifically deferred several significant issues during the recount to the Election Contest judicial panel including the issue of double counted ballots.

* Even Franken in December was arguing that some issues such as double counting and wrongly rejected absent were issues for the courts during an Election Contest.

* The manual of the Soros-ACORN backed Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie's office on how to conduct a recount plainly states a Minnesota recount cannot address all issues. "This is an administrative recount held pursuant to M.S. 204C.35 and M.R. 8235. It is not to determine who was eligible to vote. It is not to determine if campaign laws were violated. It is not to determine if absentee ballots were properly accepted. It is not -- except for the recounting the ballots -- to determine if judges did things right. It is simply to physically recount the ballots for this race!"

I want you to know that we at the Republican National Lawyers Association are not stopping in our fight for a fair vote in Minnesota.

Al Franken and his liberal allies in Congress and the media are powerful. But we have the law and truth on our side.

I woke up chanting the children's Humpty Dumpty poem, and thinking about Obama as Humpdy Dumpty
and all the kings horses as our government.

All the children's rhyme's are political from the era's from wince they came. They were used instead of newspapers to spread the real truth, and they could not be punished for getting the real word out as the newspapers!

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King's horses, And all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again!

The English version, I looked it up.

Grumpy Obama sat on his ivory wall (hiding lots of his shenanigan's while trying to look good to the Americans) he cannot fall off the wall, what and lose the power... he needs this power to succeed!

He has them currently working on getting the 2 term limit that the President has to stand by, repealed back to the Roosevelt era where there was no limits. He wants to fully control the country and to shape it like he wants. He need some Republicans around(But not enough of them to give them any power)to take the blame if he flubs up, Obama needs them because Obama cannot look bad to the country. He's already trying to nix all Bush's bills he passed before leaving office on 1/20/09. Along with any bills that got passed by the Republican congress.

THE OBAMA PRESIDENCY: HERE COMES SOCIALISM

I've been following Mr Morris for some time and this article got my attention. I will share it with you.

2009-2010 will rank with 1913-14, 1933-36, 1964-65 and 1981-82 as years that will permanently change our government, politics and lives. Just as the stars were aligned for Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson and Reagan, they are aligned for Obama. Simply put, we enter his administration as free-enterprise, market-dominated, laissez-faire America. We will shortly become like Germany, France, the United Kingdom, or Sweden - a socialist democracy in which the government dominates the economy, determines private-sector priorities and offers a vastly expanded range of services to many more people at much higher taxes.

Obama will accomplish his agenda of "reform" under the rubric of "recovery." Using the electoral mandate bestowed on a Democratic Congress by restless voters and the economic power given his administration by terrified Americans, he will change our country fundamentally in the name of lifting the depression. His stimulus packages won't do much to shorten the downturn - although they will make it less painful - but they will do a great deal to change our nation.

In implementing his agenda, Barack Obama will emulate the example of Franklin D. Roosevelt. (Not the liberal mythology of the New Deal, but the actuality of what it accomplished.) When FDR took office, he was enormously successful in averting a total collapse of the banking system and the economy. But his New Deal measures only succeeded in lowering the unemployment rate from 23 percent in 1933, when he took office, to 13 percent in the summer of 1937. It never went lower. And his policies of over-regulation generated such business uncertainty that they triggered a second-term recession. Unemployment in 1938 rose to 17 percent and, in 1940, on the verge of the war-driven recovery, stood at 15 percent. (These data and the real story of Hoover's and Roosevelt's missteps, uncolored by ideology, are available in The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes, copyright 2007.)

But in the name of a largely unsuccessful effort to end the Depression, Roosevelt passed crucial and permanent reforms that have dominated our lives ever since, including Social Security, the creation of the Securities and Exchange Commission, unionization under the Wagner Act, the federal minimum wage and a host of other fundamental changes.

Obama's record will be similar, although less wise and more destructive. He will begin by passing every program for which liberals have lusted for decades, from alternative-energy sources to school renovations, infrastructure repairs and technology enhancements. These are all good programs, but they normally would be stretched out for years. But freed of any constraint on the deficit - indeed, empowered by a mandate to raise it as high as possible - Obama will do them all rather quickly.

But it is not his spending that will transform our political system, it is his tax and welfare policies. In the name of short-term stimulus, he will give every American family (who makes less than $200,000) a welfare check of $1,000 euphemistically called a refundable tax credit. And he will so sharply cut taxes on the middle class and the poor that the number of Americans who pay no federal income tax will rise from the current one-third of all households to more than half. In the process, he will create a permanent electoral majority that does not pay taxes, but counts on ever-expanding welfare checks from the government. The dependency on the dole, formerly limited in pre-Clinton days to 14 million women and children on Aid to Families with Dependent Children, will now grow to a clear majority of the American population.

Will he raise taxes? Why should he? With a congressional mandate to run the deficit up as high as need be, there is no reason to raise taxes now and risk aggravating the depression. Instead, Obama will follow the opposite of the Reagan strategy. Reagan cut taxes and increased the deficit so that liberals could not increase spending. Obama will raise spending and increase the deficit so that conservatives cannot cut taxes. And, when the economy is restored, he will raise taxes with impunity, since the only people who will have to pay them would be rich Republicans.

In the name of stabilizing the banking system, Obama will nationalize it. Using Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to write generous checks to needy financial institutions, his administration will demand preferred stock in exchange. Preferred stock gets dividends before common stockholders do. With the massive debt these companies will owe to the government, they will only be able to afford dividends for preferred stockholders - the government, not private investors. So who will buy common stock? And the government will demand that its bills be paid before any profits that might materialize are reinvested in the financial institution, so how will the value of the stocks ever grow? Devoid of private investors, these institutions will fall ever more under government control.

Obama will begin the process by limiting executive compensation. Then he will urge restructuring and lowering of home mortgages in danger of default (as the feds have already done with Citibank).

Then will come guidance on the loans to make and government instructions on the types of enterprises to favor. God grant that some Blagojevich type is not in charge of the program, using his power to line his pockets. The United States will find itself with an economic system comparable to that of Japan, where the all-powerful bureaucracy at MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) manages the economy, often making mistakes like giving mainframe computers priority over the development of laptops.

But it is the healthcare system that will experience the most dramatic and traumatic of changes. The current debate between erecting a Medicare-like governmental single payer or channeling coverage through private insurance misses the essential point. Without a lot more doctors, nurses, clinics, equipment and hospital beds, health resources will be strained to the breaking point. The people and equipment that now serve 250 million Americans and largely neglect all but the emergency needs of the other 50 million will now have to serve everyone. And, as government imposes ever more Draconian price controls and income limits on doctors, the supply of practitioners and equipment will decline as the demand escalates. Price increases will be out of the question, so the government will impose healthcare rationing, denying the older and sicker among us the care they need and even barring them from paying for it themselves. (Rationing based on income and price will be seen as immoral.)

And Obama will move to change permanently the partisan balance in America. He will move quickly to legalize all those who have been in America for five years, albeit illegally, and to smooth their paths to citizenship and voting. He will weaken border controls in an attempt to hike the Latino vote as high as he can in order to make red states like Texas into blue states like California. By the time he is finished, Latinos and African-Americans will cast a combined 30 percent of the vote. If they go by top-heavy margins for the Democrats, as they did in 2008, it will assure Democratic domination (until they move up the economic ladder and become good Republicans).

And he will enact the check-off card system for determining labor union representation, repealing the secret ballot in union elections. The result will be to raise the proportion of the labor force in unions up to the high teens from the current level of about 12 percent.

Finally, he will use the expansive powers of the Federal Communications Commission to impose "local" control and ownership of radio stations and to impose the "fairness doctrine" on talk radio. The effect will be to drive talk radio to the Internet, fundamentally change its economics, and retard its growth for years hence.

But none of these changes will cure the depression. It will end when the private sector works through the high debt levels that triggered the collapse in the first place. And, then, the large stimulus package deficits will likely lead to rapid inflation, probably necessitating a second recession to cure it.

So Obama's name will be mud by 2012 and probably by 2010 as well. And the Republican Party will make big gains and regain much of its lost power.

But it will be too late to reverse the socialism of much of the economy, the demographic change in the electorate, the rationing of healthcare by the government, the surge of unionization and the crippling of talk radio.

Well they finally did it! Now the media is happy and drooling all over their cameras and mic's. I can't believe that the Hollywood flunkies really didn't fuss at all. Even Oprah pulled back after endorsing what's his name!
I think there will be a lotta folks in the great ol'US of A gonna be in a panic when they figure out what they did. They hired a narcissist for the top dog position of President! If you need this defined it's rather lengthy and I know the average reader would pass at looking at one of my blogs way back when I started this blog, so I'll bring it up to you and edit it as we go.

It will be interesting to sit back and watch Obama and see if he is the luming evil being that's going to destroy the planet.

Obama's speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history. Never a politician in this land had such quasi "religious" impact on so many people. I do believe he was pretending to be Martin L. King with his preacher sounding voice taking us all to the promised land!
The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming.Did you know he took courses in crowd hypnosis? Yea in the Ayer's years. Go look his schooling in Wikiup.

Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist.
David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time.
All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers' souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. He gave them hope! He promised them the moon, but alas, invariably he brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too late.
One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse. "Obama's early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations," says Vaknin. "Mixed-race marriages were even less common then. His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old). Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident. Then, his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia : a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995."
One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands. They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service. The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image. He creates a cult of personality. His admirers become his co-dependents. Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective. They are focused on one thing alone and that is power. All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities. Anything that does not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention. If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it.
The "present" vote is a safe vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong. Why should he implicate himself in issues that may become controversial when they don't help him personally? Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.
Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations. The University of Chicago Law School provided him with a fellowship and an office to work on his book. The book took him a lot longer than expected and at the end it devolved into, guess what? His own autobiography!
Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which, he had been paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self. He entitled the book Dreams from My Father .
Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still nobody. So did Stalin.
For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self. Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself? Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they lack conscience. This is evident from Obama's lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month. A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why?
Because his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself. This election is like no other in the history of America . The issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake. What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world? My God he surrounded himself with all the knowledgeable, influncial people he could find to do his thinking for him, and God forsake them that stands up to him, espcially in front of anyone! He is at last on the top of his world....until he finds a higher throne to sit on

He will do his best to change this country's laws, to suit him, and, the Senate and House of Representatives will do his bidding for him. A narcisist will die trying!
I hate to sound alarmist, but one must be a fool if one is not alarmed.
Many politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others. They are simply self serving and selfish. Obama evinces symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton, for example. To him reality and fantasy are intertwined.
This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw. Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes them treacherous.
There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.
He has already shown us he is a control freak, Has the media following him around everywhere, he sulks in a dark cloud as he tries to figure out how to get rid of them. He can't do what he needs is necessary to influence another group without breaking the trance the media is in. Oh, Did I mention I read somewhere he took courses on crowd hypnosis? I wonder why!
And he will do his best to hypnotise the House and the Senate if he has to, change a law to fit his needs!.
I can invision him standing stareing out on the ocean in Hawaii, Calmly eating a handful of nuts, totally unconcerned on the war with Isreal and the Hamas. Already planning on ways to blame someone or something else for not at least making mention of the situation. Could blame it on the storm that knocked out all the power to the island..... he knew the storm was close to the island and rushed to get there before it did! What he didn't have planned was He had 3 generators with someone offering him a 4th that he refused. Then to beat all, the local government came up with a really big generator that lit up the whole block! Well, that excuse is shot down. Probably thinking, Damn it, I'm on vacation! LOL
I think he stayed silent and was too busy to reply.

Now he has invisioned himself President Lincoln! Another fantasy....Look at all the festivities leading up to today! the train ride, the bible, and many I haven't time to put in at the moment.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a real problem on our hands.
It's time someone close to him gets a grip on reality! And I think that someone is Hilary. I have a feeling he's gonna kick her to the curb. She's not needed, only to get her followers votes. Isn't it something to think about...suddenly the Senate has slowed down seating her. I'm sure at Obama's request.
She will be better setting in the Senate watching him closley. She will be holding a grudge, at least have issues. She is dangerous, but can also be Godsent. Anyone out there got any ideas or comments they are welcome.

We Texans love y'all, but we'll probably have to take action since B. Hussein Obama won the election. We'll miss you too.
Here is what can happen:

#1: Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States, Texas immediately secedes from the Union.

#2: George W. Bush will become the President of the Republic of Texas. So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas.We will control the space industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.

3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with Texas," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry will have to figure out a way to keep them warm....

6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications--small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Miconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the largest research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. Dallas has some of the best hospitals in the United States.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston , Baylor, UNT ( University of North Texas ), Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway.

9. We have a ready supply of workers. We could just open the border when we need some more.

10. We have essential control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over Chuck Norris and a couple of Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama:

Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications.

You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming.

Dear President Bush, I know you won't ever see my blog, it's too new and small. But I have to say goodby.
For the last 8 years, I have stood behind you and trusted you with our America and despite all the bashing you took, never wavered in that trust. I have always been proud of you in the convictions to protect us, despite the polls and all the liberals and the media. I came to love my President and first lady, and tonight, I cry. You will be so missed. And I'm not alone with these tears.

We have no idea where Obama is going to take us, and it's scarry! With you there was some comfort, we knew the crowd you run with, with him we also know who he runs with, and we see the road to socialism. Obama just may take our freedom as a nation away. I see a civil war ahead. In my old eyes, I look to the heavens to protect us. I may not be here to witness alot of what is to come.

But my children will be the ones to fight for the freedom that I have lived. And I hope there will be enough conservatives to stand along side them to win.
But that is another life I must live in the long lives I have already experienced.

President-elect Barack Obama's appointments to Homeland Security, the Justice Department and now the CIA indicate a virtual abandonment of the War on Terror.As Homeland Security chief, he's named a governor whose only experience has been with the US-Mexican border.
His attorney general pick, meanwhile, took the lead in pardoning FALN terrorists. Now he has rounded out his national-security and Justice Department teams by naming ultraliberals.Leon Panetta, his choice for CIA chief, is as liberal as they come.
Though originally a pro-Nixon congressman, he long ago embraced the left with the fervor of a convert and brings these values to the CIA.As President Bill Clinton's chief of staff (a tenure that coincided with my own work with Clinton), he was a dedicated liberal, opposing accommodation with the Republicans who ran Congress and battling hard against a balanced-budget deal. After winning re-election, Clinton jettisoned Panetta for the more moderate Erskine Bowles in order to reach a deal with the GOP.

Plus, Panetta was a prime mover in the 1995 appointment of John Deutch to head CIA, replacing hardliner Jim Woolsey. Deutch eventually needed a presidential pardon after being caught committing a massive security breach by taking home his laptop, laden with secret files.Choosing Panetta to head the CIA culminates liberals' 35-year crusade to take over the agency, humble its operatives and rein in its operations.
In 1977, President Jimmy Carter named liberal JFK adviser Ted Sorenson to head CIA, only to have the nomination killed. In 1997, Clinton tried to name his ultraleftist National Security Adviser Tony Lake (who had quit Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's staff over Vietnam), only to have that nomination rejected as well.Each time, the intelligence community acted to protect its own and curbed the liberal president's inclinations.

But now, under Obama, the Democrats will finally have their way and appoint a liberal zealot to head the agency.Panetta will, presumably, curb such practices as waterboarding, rendition and warrantless wiretapping. So we won't gather much intelligence - but our spies will dot all the i's and cross all the t's.Over at Justice, Obama is naming four liberals to staff the agency, each determined to rein in effective intelligence-gathering.
Professor Dawn Johnsen of Indiana University Law School is to head the Office of Legal Counsel. She distinguished herself by writing a law-review article taking issue with President Bush's efforts to keep us safe. It was titled, "What's a President To Do: Interpreting the Constitution in the Wake of the Bush Administration Abuses." Presumably, she'll bring back the days of the wall between criminal and intelligence investigations, which led to our failure to examine the computer of "20th hijacker" Zacharias Moussaoui, which contained wire-fund-transfer information on the other hijackers.No less an authority than Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, who taught Elena Kagan, the new solicitor general, predicted that she and Johnsen would "freshly re-examine some of the positions the previous administration has taken.
"Obama's other Justice appointments, David Ogden as deputy attorney general and Thomas Perrelli as associate AG, bring back Clinton/Reno Justice Department retreads. Both participated eagerly in the constraints on intelligence-gathering that left us so vulnerable on 9/11.
Bush's legacy shows one clear achievement: He kept us safe after 9/11. Now his successor's policies are about to eradicate that singular achievement. The liberals will, of course, all cheer these appointments and the policies they'll pursue once in office, but these appointments make it frighteningly more likely that we will, indeed, be hit again.

Churches in Canada have not been held responsible for the rape, murder and disappearance of 50,000 to 100,000 Native American children in Canada’s residential schools, said Kevin Annett, speaking on RedTown Blog Talk Radio today.
Canada has not made an attempt to provide real healing for Native people, or to prosecute the perpetrators, including those who murdered and buried children.
Annett said many of the Indian survivors of residential school abuse have taken their own lives.
“They are crushed and broken by this.”
“Who will speak for the children who never came back?”
“What about all those children who died? Are we going to pretend it never happened?”
During the 90-minute program aired on RedTown, Annett said the churches pushed the Canadian government to keep these schools open, even after Canada wanted to close the schools. Now, the churches place themselves above the law, refusing to even identify where the children's graves are.
One of the survivors said after a young girl was raped by a priest, she gave birth to a child. The priest threw the baby in the furnace. On a video on the Hidden From History website, Irene Favel, survivor of Muscowequan Catholic residential school in Lestock, Saskatchewan, describes seeing a newborn baby thrown alive into a furnace at that school by a priest in 1944.
“They heard the little cry," Annett said on RedTown radio.
On Turtle Island, the genocide of Indian people was the worst genocide in the history of mankind, he said.
In Canada, the churches had a motivation for genocide. The churches stole land from the west coast tribes and sold it off to logging companies. In return, the churches received kickbacks.
Now, Canada’s system of compensation payments to survivors of residential school abuse is designed to produce more trauma, as survivors relive the abuse. Using a crude system, Canada gives a number of points for abuse. For example, victims of rape or beatings are given specific numbers of points.
The survivor has to remember the name of the perpetrator. But Annett asked how many five-year-olds remember the name of the person who abused them. The survivors also have to provide proof that they attended residential school, even though many of the documents have been destroyed. Now, of those seeking compensation, 8 out of 10 have been disqualified.
Canada designed a system to victimize the victims.
“They know that when someone relives that, they will go off and kill themselves. That is not an accident, it is deliberate,” Annett said.
Canada is not concerned about healing, he said. Canada is concerned about minimizing the liability. There are actions people can take to help, like recording the stories of survivors and writing letters to newspapers. Urging people to people exchanges, rather than relying on the Internet, is how change happens, he said.
In Canada, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is holding forums which do not allow for exposure of the actual crimes or naming of the perpetrators.
“That is their plan, to whitewash the whole thing.” Annett wants real observers, from outside Canada, to go to the children’s graves. Then, for the children to be repatriated and charges and prosecution to follow.
Annett said it is vital to have an international tribunal resulting in charges and prosecutions.
There is also a Boycott of the 2010 Olympics underway, so the media and government will take notice of the crimes, including the Indian sterilization clinics in mass all over the west coast of Canada.
It was a crime of genocide.
Still, no one responsible for the rape, torture and murder of these children has been prosecuted. Some of the perpetrators are still alive.
Annett said his personal life was destroyed and he was defrocked by the church because he exposed the systematic genocide of Indian children by the churches in Canada. Annett described his own journey and what happened to him over the past 15 years of exposing the genocide.
Annett’s own transformation began as a minister in Vancouver when he met many Native people who were suffering. He became aware of the suicides and widespread intergenerational trauma. Then Native people began talking about the abuse.
“The churches have never been prosecuted for these crimes.”
Indian children were sterilized and other atrocities of Nazi Germany were carried out.
“The institutions got away with that.”
Annett discovered in historical archives that early medical records reveal that 40 to 60 percent of the children in Canada’s residential schools died. It was a systematic effort to kill off Indian people. Children were locked in dorms with others with tuberculosis and fast spreading diseases.
“It was germ warfare.”
“They were doing it to depopulate the west.”
“It is genocide. It has to be treated like any other crime,” Annett said.
Referring to financial compensation for survivors, he said acts this terrible cannot be compensated or apologized away. In many cases, when money is paid to the victims of residential school abuse, there is a gag order and an agreement that the government cannot be sued.
The money that has been paid out has not solved anything and in some cases has resulted in suicides and other forms of death.
“It is designed to protect the perpetrators.”
The churches widespread abuse of children was designed to wipe out Indian people. The schools began in the 1800s. The last school in Canada did not close until 1996. Besides speaking out for 15 years about the systematic genocide, Annett produced a film, “Unrepentant,” which can be viewed online.
While his own personal life was destroyed, it made him realize what the church was capable of.
“Native people are disposables in our culture,” he said. The abuse has not stopped. Today, police in Canada still take Native people outside of town and leave them to freeze to death.
When Annett began to expose what he found in archives, he realized there was a conspiracy of silence.
“Everything is run by the government here,” he said. In Canada if anyone challenges the government or churches, he is considered a threat. He said it is a very Totalitarian government.
Annett was fired from his pulpit. “They tried to scapegoat me like there was something wrong with me.”
The church offered to pay for his wife’s divorce. After the divorce, he lost custody of his children. But, then the Native people began to tell him more of their stories and invite him to their healing circles.
Today, he said there is a great deal of denial in Canada. However, there is more openness from the young people when there are protests and calls for action.
“Most of the people who come by on the street are supportive of us.”
The older clergy knows it is true and become angry at the protests and truth.
“I can see real change happening,”
“I’m still under a real blacklist, in terms of getting work in Canada.”
When asked if he ever considered giving up, he said he did not want them to win. He wanted to be able to look his children in the eyes one day and for them to know what he did.
Annett described how he went with survivors into a Vancouver church and respectfully held up a banner, “All the children need a proper burial.” Alongside him was a survivor who was almost tortured to death as a child in residential school. But after standing in that church with that banner, the man stopped drinking. He said he found a power within himself that he didn’t know he had, as they were standing there together.
The priests were very angry and called the police. But when they left this church, the congregation stood and honored them.
Annett said their message to the people of Canada has been, “If it happened to your child, wouldn’t you want to know where they are and what happened to them.”
There were 50,000 to 100,000 Indian children in Canada that never came back from church-operated residential schools. A lot of these crimes are continuing today, as Indian children are put into white foster homes.
Now, pedophile networks are exploiting children from the reserves.
“Unless you can confront this, it is carried on. People who are abused, become the abuser.” A report form UNESCO shows Vancouver is one of the top cities in the world for child prostitution.
During the RedTown Radio show, host Brenda Golden, Mvskoke (Creek) in Oklahoma, said both she and her mother are survivors of residential schools. Golden’s mother was forbidden to speak her language and isolated from her family. “My mother had a detachment, my mother didn’t know how to love us kids because she hadn’t had that.”
Annett relayed the story of a survivor and how an eight-year-old was stretched out on a rack in a residential school in a form of Medievil torture. “He saw someone die on that rack.” But the survivor said he had been taught his own traditions and that is how he survived.
“When you lose touch with the spirit, you start dying from the inside out,” the survivor said.
Annett said this is what happened to white people, to Europeans. They lost touch with the spirit.
“We survive by remembering who we are.”
This was a war and some children survived it, but they carry this with them, at a cellular level. He said we all have to find out how to heal ourselves, with the traditions passed on.
What Annett discovered, and lived through, is the dark side of the culture in Christianity.
While Canadian churches are fighting the exposure of this truth, Golden said in the United States people refuse to believe that the US government sterilized Indian women.
During the show, one caller, Kathy from Florida said, “If we are not a watchdog for the children, we will have no future. She said her brother is a survivor of residential school in Ireland. “It happens everywhere.”
In closing Annett spoke of his ancestor Peter Annett who was also persecuted for speaking out. “The power of one person speaking the truth is something we must honor.”
“People are judged by their actions, instead of their words.”
Praising the qualities of Native people, Annett said Indian people have withstood the genocide because of their great strength. Now, all of humanity must struggle together if mankind is to survive.
“It is how we are going to survive, together now, if we are even able to,” Annett said, pointing out the destruction of the old growth forests.
When asked about his current beliefs, Annett said he is a spiritual person, but not in a way that he expected.
“I feel a deep peace inside. I feel I have done the right thing.”

In the beginning, when the ships came and dropped off the travelers from distant countries. We watched and listened. They came as friendly's. We welcomed them and as the years passed, things changed. They changed..They became full of greed, they wanted all that we had loved and cherished. Our lands. And these invaders came and they killed. They killed and killed and where ever we went they followed and killed some more. They killed our food, our great Chieftan's, our young braves. Then the women and children, our future. They burned our villages, stole our ponies and spat on our bodies. as we lay dead and dying on the prairie's across Mother earth. We somehow failed to protect her, that's what the Great One put us here to do. To tend the earth, and the wildlife and keep all abundant and in harmony. They put us in lands fit for on man, then gathered us up again and herded us like cattle, starving us and making us walk many miles till we dropped and then they shot us again. Many years have passed, now they sit and look out on what was once a beautiful earth, at what they have done. And in the modern world, we still are confined to the reservations they forced us upon back then.

Is Obama a narcissist?

Someone sent me this in an email during the elections. Thought it was worth looking at again. It will be interesting to sit back and watch Obama and see if he is the luming evil being that's going to destroy the planet.

Yes, he sealed it alright! After reading the following post yesterday and watching the Obamamercial last night ,whoever wrote this has the man pegged :
I must confess I was impressed by Sen. Barack Obama from the first time I saw him. At first I was excited to see a black candidate. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident - a wholesome presidential package.
I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling. His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words.
Obama's speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history. Never a politician in this land had such quasi "religious" impact on so many people.
The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming.

Obama is not an ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects. Barack Obama is a narcissist. Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love, also believes, "Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist." Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism. He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person. When he talks about narcissism everyone listens.

Vaknin says that Obama's language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves.
Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist.
David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time.
All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers' souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. They gave them hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too late.
One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse. "Obama's early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations," says Vaknin. "Mixed-race marriages were even less common then. His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old). Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident. Then, his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia : a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995."
One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands. They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service. The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image. He creates a cult of personality. His admirers become his co-dependents. Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective. They are focused on one thing alone and that is power. All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities. Anything that does not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention. If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it.
The "present" vote is a safe vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong. Why should he implicate himself in issues that may become controversial when they don't help him personally? Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.
Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations. The University of Chicago Law School provided him with a fellowship and an office to work on his book. The book took him a lot longer than expected and at the end it devolved into, guess what? His own autobiography!
Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which, he had been paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self. He entitled the book Dreams from My Father .
Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still nobody. So did Stalin.
For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self. Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself? Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they lack conscience. This is evident from Obama's lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month. A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why?
Because his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself. This election is like no other in the history of America . The issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake. What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?
I hate to sound alarmist, but one must be a fool if one is not alarmed
Many politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others.. They are simply self serving and selfish. Obama evinces symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton, for example. To him reality and fantasy are intertwined.
This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw. Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes them treacherous.
There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.
He has already shown us he is a control freak, As the media following him around has him sulking in a dark cloud as he tries to figure out how to get rid of them. And he will if he has to change a law.
I can invision him standing stareing out on the ocean in Hawaii, Calmly eating a handful of nuts, totally unconcerned on the war with Isreal and the Hamas. Already planning on ways to blame someone or something else for not at least making mention of the situation. Can't blame it on the storm that knocked out all the power to the island.....He had 3 generators with someone offering him a 4th that he refused. Then to beat all, the local government came up with a really big generator that lit up the whole block! Well, that excuse is shot down. Probably thinking, Damn it, I'm on vacation! I was surfing last night and came across some articles.
One from Hawaii about Obama paying a visit to the troops there during Christmas. I read that the room fell quiet, not as usual when President Bush would show; with Bush there would have been cheering and picture taking etc. They sat quietly eating and only showed respect when directly confronted by Obama............
Is it because of his race.......the friends he runs with.....his better than thou attitude.......I am curious; Really!
I must say the President-elect does come with baggage! There is a dark side of this man, he kind of makes me think of old whats his name leader in Iran; only more hidden. I think we are gonna be going on a evil ride for the next two years!

Then I hear that the new leaders on Iraq Have proclaimed December 25Th as a national holiday........Christmas! There were picture's of little boys and girls dressed up like Santa and ms Santa lighting candles! Christian worship! My heart soared with delight! Praise the Lord! Christian Church's to be built also.

All the Native's will know when this happens. All the White's will be too busy in their own lives to pay much attention, and a large percentage don't like us and will say " The apology don't pretain to my opinion!" Sad to say, but this apology will be laid to rest in the Smithsonian Museum. I say "GIVE US BACK OUR DIGNITY! And give our Mother (earth) back her's also!

WASHINGTON — The Lakota Indians, who gave the world legendary warriors Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the United States.
"We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,'' long-time Indian rights activist Russell Means said.
A delegation of Lakota leaders has delivered a message to the State Department, and said they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the U.S., some of them more than 150 years old.
The group also visited the Bolivian, Chilean, South African and Venezuelan embassies, and would continue on their diplomatic mission and take it overseas in the coming weeks and months.
Lakota country includes parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
The new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free - provided residents renounce their U.S. citizenship, Mr Means said.
The treaties signed with the U.S. were merely "worthless words on worthless paper," the Lakota freedom activists said.

Withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, Means said.
"This is according to the laws of the United States, specifically article six of the constitution,'' which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land, he said.
"It is also within the laws on treaties passed at the Vienna Convention and put into effect by the US and the rest of the international community in 1980. We are legally within our rights to be free and independent,'' said Means.
The Lakota relaunched their journey to freedom in 1974, when they drafted a declaration of continuing independence — an overt play on the title of the United States' Declaration of Independence from England.
Thirty-three years have elapsed since then because "it takes critical mass to combat colonialism and we wanted to make sure that all our ducks were in a row,'' Means said.
One duck moved into place in September, when the United Nations adopted a non-binding declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples — despite opposition from the United States, which said it clashed with its own laws.
"We have 33 treaties with the United States that they have not lived by. They continue to take our land, our water, our children,'' Phyllis Young, who helped organize the first international conference on indigenous rights in Geneva in 1977, told the news conference.
The U.S. "annexation'' of native American land has resulted in once proud tribes such as the Lakota becoming mere "facsimiles of white people,'' said Means.
Oppression at the hands of the U.S. government has taken its toll on the Lakota, whose men have one of the shortest life expectancies - less than 44 years - in the world.
Lakota teen suicides are 150 per cent above the norm for the U.S.; infant mortality is five times higher than the U.S. average; and unemployment is rife, according to the Lakota freedom movement's website.

Let it snow!

It's 6 o clock in the evening, the Nevada storm front is moving over us with a lite snow starting to cover the land. In my neck of the woods, the town closes up around 8pm, the lights go dim and the smell of the wood stoves come and go. I love this land and the folks who live here, all living in harmony. This is the high desert and land of 4 seasons, the view is breath taking! We go ATVing in the spring and summer. Fishing and boating, swimming and jet skiing during fishing season. Hiking for those who can. This is the outback of NW Arizona! Land of Lake Mead, the Colorado River, and the Grand Canyon! We have gold mines, Turquoise mines, the land of thunder eggs and beautiful stones. Heck we even had the burning man festival here this year.
But this snow stuff has only happened maybe 7 or 8 times since I moved here 6 yr ago. It'll be melted off by noon tomorrow.Snow is cool to watch, to sit by our fire and see the beauty of it all. Life is good!

I'm a Native!

How often have you heard or said "I'm part Indian"?
If you have, then some Native American elders have something to teach you. A very touching example was told by a physician from Oregon who discovered as an adult that he was Indian.
This is his story. Listen well:

Some twenty or more years ago while serving the Mono and Chukchanse and Chownumnee communities in the Sierra Nevada, I was asked to make a house call on a Mono elder. She was 81 years old and had developed pneumonia after falling on frozen snow while bucking up some firewood.
I was surprised that she had asked for me to come since she had always avoided anything to do with the services provided through the local agencies. However it seemed that she had decided I might be alright because I had helped her grandson through some difficult times earlier and had been studying Mono language with the 2nd graders at North Fork School.
She greeted me from inside her house with a Mana' hu, directing me into her bedroom with the sound of her voice. She was not willing to go to the hospital like her family had pleaded, but was determined to stay in her own place and wanted me to help her using herbs that she knew and trusted but was too weak to do alone. I had learned to use about a dozen native medicinal plants by that time, but was inexperienced in using herbs in a life or death situation.
She eased my fears with her kind eyes and gentle voice. I stayed with her for the next two days, treating her with herbal medicine (and some vitamin C that she agreed to accept). She made it through and we became friends.
One evening several years later, she asked me if I knew my elders. I told her that I was half Canadian and half Appalachian from Kentucky. I told her that my Appalachian grandfather was raised by his Cherokee mother but nobody had ever talked much about that and I didn't want anyone to think that I was pretending to be an Indian. I was uncomfortable saying I was part Indian and never brought it up in normal conversation.
"What! You're part Indian?" she said. "I wonder, would you point to the part of yourself that's Indian. Show me what part you mean." I felt quite foolish and troubled by what she said, so I stammered out something to the effect that I didn't understand what she meant. Thankfully the conversation stopped at that point. I finished bringing in several days worth of firewood for her, finished the yerba santa tea she had made for me and went home still thinking about her words.
Some weeks later we met in the grocery store in town and she looked down at one of my feet and said, "I wonder if that foot is an Indian foot. Or maybe it's your left ear. Have you figured it out yet?" I laughed out loud, blushing and stammering like a little kid.
When I got outside after shopping, she was standing beside my pick-up, smiling and laughing. "You know" she said, "you either are or you aren't. No such thing as part Indian. It's how your heart lives in the world, how you carry yourself. I knew before I asked you. Nobody told me. Now don't let me hear you say you are part Indian anymore."
She died last year, but I would like her to know that I've heeded her words. And I've come to think that what she did for me was a teaching that the old ones tell people like me, because others have told me that a Native American elder also said almost the same thing to them. I know her wisdom helped me to learn who I was that day and her words have echoed in my memory ever since.
And because of her, I am no longer part Indian, I'm an Indian!
